Many things can effect family’s. These things include relationships, finances, and experiences, some have positive and or negative effects, “It is based on evidence from both human and animal studies that punishing experiences, such as economic pressure, have a negative effect which can take many forms, such as despondency, depression, anger, or aggression” (Page 1). In this quote it shows what can tear a family apart.

How you are parented really shapes who you are. It shows your morals and beliefs and they should help guide you through life. When parenting you need to make sure it is effective, “Effective parenting (nurturing, supportive parenting that includes clear and consistent discipline) can prevent negative behaviors and also promote prosocial behaviors and values” (Page 2).

Although your parents shape you a lot so do your peers. We sometimes surround ourselves with no good people. These people tend to bring bad things into our lives, “dominant individuals who seem to be the most influential, particularly with regard to high-risk behaviors” (Page 2). You need to make sure you surround yourself with positive people so they don’t impact your life negatively.

When my parents got divorced it was really hard. I was only 12 so I could remember a lot of it. It had both positive and negative effects on me and my family. I learned how to be independent and communicate better because I was always delivering Infromation to both of my parents. This also caused a lot of stress and sadness into my life at such a young age.
