I received a surgery at sick kids when I was 5 years old. It was quite the experience as I did not really see my family for about 2 days and I was uncomfortable, hot and confused. However, the doctors were nice and there were lots of toy cars and trucks to play with which was nice.

On September 4th, it was my first day of High School at York Mills Collegiate institute. This was probably the biggest change in my life so far as the physical and verbal environment changes. Teachers treat us as adults but sometimes an infant approach help boost positivity. On a more realistic approach, I noticed that I get a lot more work compared to last year even though last year I was juggling 8 subjects at a time. This probably happens because the classes are longer and there is a shorter time period so teachers are able to cover more content.

Having a cast on was very difficult because it was hard to walk and the itch that the cast gave me was a son of a gun. I remember once waking up at night, taking a fork and itching until I felt satisfaction. This taught me patience as I eventually got used to the itch and I did not have the urge to do it as often. I ended up having to go to school with my cast for a few days which was troubling in itself.

My 4th cruise was on Royal Caribbeans' Liberty of the Seas. Before I begin, I would like to say that it was a fantastic cruise as the food was good and there were some unique features such as the water slides that were onboard. The reason why this is an important event to me is because it taught me to prepare for the worst. We drove down to Galveston, Texas in August of 2017 for a 7 night Caribbean cruise. What ended up happening was that our cruise ended up extending for another week because the cruise ship could not dock due to the fact that Hurricane Harvey had made landfall. We ended up going to Miami for food, fuel and also so that the people who flew in could fly out of Miami or the nearby Ft. Lauderdale airport and also a complimentary arrangement to a large shopping mall. I ended up buying some clothes there. The voyage to Miami took 5 days from the unexpected anchorage to Miami and back. Unfortunately the water there was so high that a decent amount permeated into our car. Luckily we were able to drive back but then we had to scrap the car. The car was bought used and was a huge upgrade from what we had before so it was sad that we had to give it away because we only had it for 20 months. We ended up getting up getting a new car but this did teach me that I should expect the unexpected more frequently.

This sometimes affects me but now that it has been put through sports and training it works well. This has also taught me that god has given each one of us something that they do not want for the rest of their lives which helps develop a small amount adaptation capability for future events.

Although this may not seem like a major event, it was for me. First of all, this was the first time I went to school the entire day, which was a big change for me as my kindergarten was only half-day. The second change was that we were applying our reading, writing and numbers in our work. We learned how to add and subtract one and two-digit numbers and were asked questions based on the small 10 page books given to us based on our reading level. This was also the first and last time I had to deal with an old, rubbish, fat prick whom I completely hated.
