provide tutor with draft work for feedback

first revision of work

Milestone 5: 
second revision of work for all class critique

What this means really connects with your team's aim for your assessment, such as bringing a modern take and feeling to our 21st century Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth community whilst still growing in our traditional culture. 

We appreciate you reaching out and getting a sort of approval/permission to explore our culture in an appropriate manner. Everyone at Kurbingui supports your goal and is very keen to see the final product, wishing you the very best with your assessment and total learning experience. We understand that you want to take a respectful approach to your photography/video work and find this considerate action of asking for consent, a very heartwarming and mindful activity especially coming from the younger generations.

Our response took form as a photo-series which we shoot, directed and part-took in, after our group embarked on weekend road-trip down the coast to Indigenous sites we were given permission to visit.  As a group we focused on learning, acknowledging, and immersing ourselves in these sacred spaces – integrating meaning into our photographs through the use of colour symbolism, using the beauty of the flora and fauna around us. 

Our intended idea was to create a respectful homage to Aboriginal culture. Keeping in mind to be culturally sensitive, respectful and avoid cultural appropriation of any sorts. As the youth of Australia, we collectively went out to learn in real life, to respectfully investigate and immerse ourselves in the land, similarly as Baker Boy expresses in his song.
