In part 1 of chapter 7 in "The Color of My Words", we learn about the arguments regarding Ana Rosa's village. The villagers argue that they are the owners of the land; the government and representatives argue that they own the land. We are going to explore both sides of the argument. Then, you will decide whose side you are on based on the arguments presented in the book.

(any age) I think that they are more better as an adult at age 13 because they know everything that a teenager needs to know, and is experienced in almost everything, but not as "adulty" things. I also believe that when they are ready because my older brother acts like the traits on the child side on the board, but I really like it though since it's funny sometimes.

In my opinion , this is a Weak argument because it is also said that the villagers were going to fight the government who wanted to take their land but knowing this village is not upper class they would not have many things to protect themselves with unlike the government which is more efficient and have more money so they could buy things to protect themselves

The villagers argue that they own the land because they are the one's started the island built house and shops and many more and they don't remember who was the first one who built it since they have lived there for a long time and who ever try's to buy or sell the island they are going to fight for the island.

The passage on page 97 and 105 it states that "We are the owners of this land. They can't sell it unless we let them." and on page 105 It states That "After that we became a village of rebels fighting to keep our homes."

In my opinion, this is a good argument about land ownership because the people have word hard for the island they even said that they were going to fight for there land and lived there for a long time but the thing is that they don't have a government. No government then we don't know who's going to get the island because if the villager has a good reason but Mr.Moreno has a better reason then the island is his,If one of the villagers was the government then it obvious who that person is going to choose the person is going to choose the villagers and it just not fair.

Mr. Moreno also has a good argument because he said that he was going to make the island a better place like adding new things and building and more. In the passage on page 96 it states that "What some big mouth politician was suddenly saying about dividing up our land.Foreign investors Money for island Improvements and Progress."

Mr. Moreno also has a good argument since we was try to make the villager to be on his side so that he could be the government then sell it he is trying to make the people go to his side by saying he is going to make the island a better place by adding more jobs and more money which make the some villager go on his side since all the people are poor and don't have a lot of jobs and money which makes some of them go to his side but at the same time he could be a bad leader or government and just say that to trick them so he could become the government and sell the island so that he could become rich once he is done is is going to leave them.

So if I had to choose between the villagers or Mr.Moreno I would have to choose The villagers because it could be risky to the people since the new government is now in charge which could be worse or good and maybe it's going to happen more later on the book.

The villagers argue that they own the land because their whole life is on the land and they are also willing to fight for it. The people there have also lived on the land for so long. They were the ones to keep the land safe and help it grow.

In the passage on page 97, it sates "Everyone here, all our families have lived on this land for more than the amount of years needed to own it. We are the owner of this land. They can't sell it unless we let them. "

In my opinion, this is a strong argument about the land ownership because it shows how much the people really care about their land. And it shows that they will fight the government for the land. And we know that in the story if someone disobeys the governments rules they would be murder. The villagers know that but they are being brave and willing to fight for their land so they don't get it taken away.
