There is an (almost) abandoned mercato comunale in the Corvetto area. It's barely living; only one or two stores are open, fighting with the nearby modern supermarkets to get customers.

One thing I hate about taking the train is that the glass is so dark, and it goes underground; I can't even see the sign, nor do they make an announcement of the stop, so I often miss my stops. But there is a trick I learned when going to my campus in Bovisa. Because Porta Vittoria is the first stop above ground, whenever I see light from the windows, I know I have arrived. Though this trick does not working in the night and in winter.

I always hate going to this place because it lacks functional lighting and human presence. Which is a pity—to find a place with such potential, seemingly left out of the city's eyes.

Loreto metro is where I’ve felt a little confused because the junction is a little big and the underground passage sometimes leaves you a little stranded or getting out on the wrong end. They have long transitional passage where the passage seems to never end especially due to a poor lighting.

There is something wrong with it. People avoid it, even if they have no real alternative. The urban transport system splits awkwardly. It creates an edge condition instead of a connection. Bovisa feels like the back of the city, not part of it.

Many Polimi students live there, yet the area is dark and feels unsafe at night. Public transport does not help. To reach the campus, you often have to take a longer route that adds around 30 minutes. There are no direct trains to Bovisa because of the route split.

I’ve waited for the tram here many times. Sometimes the screen does not show any arrival time. When it gets dark, the space becomes unsettling. Waiting feels exposed. Walking feels unsafe. There is a curved tram track with no clear function. No signage. No marker. Nothing that works as an identifier. It feels unfinished or abandoned. The trees fill the space, but not in a comforting way. They dominate the scene. They become the main presence, overpowering the human scale.

I used to live here. It is a large apartment complex with very diverse tenants, including many immigrant families. Most of them are kind. But the atmosphere is distant. People keep to themselves. There is little interaction in the common spaces. Coming home at night, I sometimes felt uneasy. Not because of a specific incident, but because of the lack of familiarity. The corridors felt anonymous. The silence felt heavy.

When I came here it was fall, and I still need to adjust myself. This bus stop is the first stop, where I commute for the first time, and in the midst of cold air and fog, I have to deal with it. I always hate it because the visibility is minimum here. I don't feel like I belong here, and I just want to get this journey over.

The platforms are always very dark. Nothingness is very loud here. Too big for a small portion of people passing by. There is a casa popolare nearby, and it's not a very safe area to pass by.

I happened to be there once late at night after taking the wrong train, and there was no one and I has to reach Bausan alone and with my phone dead, so it was extremely scary and made me feel so uneasy that I started to run. There isn't a lot of lighting in the street from between Villapizzone and Bovisa, and It feels like there are many alleys. In the day time it still makes you feel quite uneasy, the station gives off a ruined and abandoned vibe.

"I Granai", uno dei primi grandi centri commerciali nella zona Sud-est di Roma, che, secondo me, rappresenta a pieno il concetto di spazio liminale come estetica. Nel macro collage in allegato, vi presento delle foto che ho scattato nei punti che hanno catturato particolarmente la mia attenzione, stimolando molto l'immaginazione. Ho provato la sensazione di trovarmi davanti ad un posto che potrebbe celare qualcosa di misterioso.
