I have worked in education for the past 2 years, this would be my third year as a teacher aide. Just like Norwood Elementary School, the teachers at CAL have also given me a chance to get involve directly with the students teaching, by giving me the chance to teach certain parts of a lesson, along with providing additional support to those students who need extra support. Along with giving me the chance to teach small parts of a lesson, they have given me advices on how I improve my teaching or how I can differentiate certain activities, questions for those students who need it. I graduated from Concordia University of Irvine in 2013. 

After I graduated I worked in a bank as a teller for three years.

After continuously applying for a teacher aide position in different schools within LAUSD and charter schools, I was finally given the chance at Norwood Elementary School. 

During my first year as a teacher aide, I was able to work with kindergarten,  2nd grade and 5th grade, which gave the chance to experience the difference between lower grade levels and upper grade levels. The three teachers I assisted, gave the chance to provide small group and one-to-one support. They would inform me of what the student(s) needs additional support with and they would guide me of the different activities that I could do with those students, but yet they would give me the chance to change or add to the activity. I would always find different ways to engage the student in the activity. That is when I came to realize that I really enjoy working in education and with children, and the three teachers I worked with suggested that I should go back to school because they saw a great teacher in the making every time I was working with their students. Thanks to the 5th grade teacher, Mrs. Bernato, is why I came across Pacific Oaks College and being a current student working towards my Master's in Education with Preliminary Multiple Subject Teaching Credential.
