In order to get to the underworld the dead needed to pay a miser named Charon to cross the river of Styx. The Greeks would put a coin under the tongue of the corpse. If the soul couldn't pay than they would stay in the human world and haunt the people that didn't put a coin under their tongue. On the other side of the river there war a large gate, guarded by a three headed dog named Cerberus. Cerberus would eat anyone who wasn't a soul. When you died you were judged by three judges, Minos, Rhadamanthys, and Aeacus. Those who were disliked by the gods were give a special punishment, for instance, drinking from a lake that would always move out of your reach, never being able to push a large enchanted stone up a hill, and never being able to eat grapes that would move out of your reach. The souls that were better than the others went to Elysium. This was a field always full of music and everyday was a Holiday.
