The main character is the boy. His mom and he don't have a lot of money. He doesn't talk to anybody. He has no father. The is a determined boy because even though the road is icy he is climbing up the mountain. The loves his mom because he is entering a competition even though he doesn't have the right equipment just to earn 1000 dollars for his mum.

He cares for others because he is going to see if the dog and the man in the van are okay. He can talk to animals. He feels guilty that he couldn't yell help! He is a problem solver since the horn wasn't working because he clanged the car with a rock. 

He tried sharing his food with the dog meaning he shares. He never gives up because even though he can't talk he tries. I agree with him because I would do the same as him. People can trust the boy because he is friendly.

In the end, he has become more confident because not only he was speaking he was using a firm voice. He is sensitive he didn't let the man take the dog away by going up to the dog and loving him.

She is a determined sort of character because when the pesk June was hanging out with Felicity
Darrell's younger sister she is determined to get Felicity away from June. Darrell loses her temper easily because when June was going to tell the head that she part of a midnight feast which the upper fourth planned (just to get revenge from Alicia her cousin who is in the same form as Darrell) Darrell got mad and shook like she was a rattle. This book is about deserts and life in them. I am reading this book because I find it interesting and they have a lot of cool facts. I have learned a lot of thing which I didn't know from reading this book. I like the pages layouts because it makes it easy for me to read and understand. This book is really interesting because it talks about how Singapore developed from a fishing village to a wonderful city. All the wars, difficulties and major problems people had to face in Singapore. One of the chapters was called Japanese occupation. The main idea was mount Everest. different challenges while climbing. Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay.
I figured this out by the picture and repeating words. One of the words that repeated was, climb and challenges.

Well the movie is awesome and the book is awesome.
Some similarities were the characters. They had the same characters and a bit of the same story board.

The differences were that they changed a bit of the story.
I love the movie and the book.

One bit which was really sad in the book and movie was about the armstrong tragedy.

One really shocking bit was how they all murdered that person. Not only one person. I was really thoughtful the way they came up with the plan to murder cassette. The book is meaningful and so is the movie. There are some differences but a lot of similarities. I think the message was it doesn't matter how you look it matter how your character is. Auggie thinks he is ugly but the truth is he has a really strong character and a great heart.

Chapter 11: I think the meaning is that you don't always have to give in always. Just because X-Ray was considered the boss, he doesn't have to give in.

Chapter 14: If there were cameras and microphones everywhere why didn't the warden know that Stanley found the golden tube.

Stanley inside traits: kind, jolly, caring, self conscious, respectful.

Zero inside traits: Quiet, Blank, respectful.

Chapter 23:
I wonder why Zero chose Stanley to learn from, there are so many other boys.I notice the lady's name is Katherine Barlow. If she is still alive how? Is Katherine and Kate the same person? I wonder why the author made a connection with Trout Walker and Clyde Livingstone. I understand why Katherine said no to Trout Walker, she trusts her decision.

Some themes that I am noticing in the book Holes is...

I think Linda's relative is the warden and that Stanley found one of Kate Barlow's treasures. I like the way the author drops in little clues.

The author uses a lot of show not tell. I think even I use show not tell. I like how the author uses metaphors and similes. I think I might try to use it.

I think when Stanley finds the boat Zero will be under it. I think the boat is Onion Sams. I think the gods thumb is somewhere near Madame Zeroni's house. Because she lived in the mountains and the water was fresh. I think they might also find water because the water there was really fresh. Since Zero is actually Hector Zeroni.

Character Change (Zero)

I think think some character changes I have noticed are that Zero speaks up for himself more because in many places in the book he makes a come back. Also how he is showing who he is as a person when he has a question or/and a answer.

Chapter 48

I think the message is to never lie and never be greedy. Also that we all have a voice.

Last Chapter

I predict that Stanley and Zero become really close friends and Zero finds a really nice foster home.  It might be that Stanley's parents decide that Zero can stay with them. I think this book is a fantasy because there are talking animals.

The animals all want to protect borneo. They are very resilient and caring about each other. Honesty Smith and Spencer Jones and not fantasy creatures they are human beings on a quest to save the environment. They need the seeds help to do so, to find the seeds they have to go to Alaska!

The most important things would probably be that they find the seeds due to Spencer Jones and Honesty Smith. Courage will also play a big part in it.

This book is awesome!

I know this is a Adventure book because it has no magic and it is about a journey under the sea. 

The main character Pierre Aronnax, is caring, soft hearted, and is good at making decisions. I know this because he cares about the submarine Captain Nemo, even though he has 'captured' them. He makes good decisions when it is the right time to escape and how to.

I think the decision making is important for his success because otherwise he will not know what steps he has to take. 

I think that Pierre is very clear in what he has to say and when he has to say it.

I think this book is an adventure book because they adventure an island and name it 'New Switzerland'.

The Swiss family are not afraid, resilient and are very creative. They also are very caring of the animals.

Something that would be important for their success would be resilience and creativity because that's how they would have time to build the thing for their survival.

The traits of Arkie are determined because she is determined to find her parents. Adventurous because she is adventuring Egypt.

The most important things for her success would probably be determination because if she is not determined she will not bother to find the treasure for the kidnappers. So therefore she will not find her parents.

The traits for the man he has created are soft for others because the people who's shed he hid in when they were sad he was sad.

Something important for Frankenstein survival is that he finds the 'monster'.
