We focused on 5 animals in our presentation: Dogs, iguanas, earth worms, dolphins, and pigeons. In order to relate the content to the students life we first talk about how humans have 5 senses: touch, sight, hearing, smell, taste. We will describe that the senses we have can help us navigate our daily lives. Animals have specialized senses to help navigate their lives as well! Dogs have 300 million senses in their nose to be able to smell their food far away. Iguanas can detect temperature in the sand to decide when to lay their eggs. Earth worms have taste buds all over their body to help them detect food and avoid chemicals. Dolphins use echolocation to communicate, and pigeons rotate their heads 340 degrees in order to see their predators and prey. These senses are important because it helps them to survive.

The students would be commenting on the slides (pictures) with their reactions. It is also useful for students to refer back to the video at home in order to study or just review the content. Students can also create their own as well. For example, for an extension activity students could pick their own animal to research and then make their own VoiceThread on it
