They are at the age of 16-19.<br>Earlier I used to Teach my students but today I let them Learn.<br>This way I can even see the learning process (everybody has its own).<br>Students are much eager to study if they can partially decide their own speed of learning.<br>I see this is the way I can personalize mathematics learning in upper secondary school.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I think most of my students like maths - especially those with the advanced syllabus. They even do their homework. I feel students' motivation level increased quite a lot after I stopped teaching them by the so called traditional way (TT). It is beneficial for students to identify so called key contents and: " You have to master well the basics only". You don't need to master everything - you can construct a lot of knowledge on the basic skills. <br>Unfortunately that is very hard to understand. Students like their parents are thinking: Mathematics Is Very Difficult and only some people can master it! It is some kind of cultural story. With technolocy it is possible to make it easier - but you have to learn The Basics Well. The basic things are not very hard to learn.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>It is not so easy the combine music with mathematics and nurture students' skills in Maths with music.<br>I agree that rhythm can help one to remember words and sentences. My daughter learned grammar in foreign languages by songs and rhythm. Why not formulas in mathematics, too?<br>It depends on your self - what kind of learner you are.<br>One of the most impressive songs according to mathematics is a song of the Deck of Cards by T. Rautavaara. You can listen it <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_ymt1Zl8S0">here</a>. Unfortunately the lyrics are in Finnish. To understand the story you can read it&nbsp; in English <a href="https://play.google.com/music/preview/Tzzgzxjdlbkmoahjkf2jiyjgdou?lyrics=1&amp;utm_source=google&amp;utm_medium=search&amp;utm_campaign=lyrics&amp;pcampaignid=kp-lyrics">here</a>.<br>With this song I often start my probability calculus. The story combines maths (the deck of cards) with religion. After listening the song everybody knows the deck of cards and can even make questions according to it.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

And so is teaching, too.<br><br>In my Maths classroom  I have shared the responsibility of teaching mathematics to my "tutor students". They are those who are studying their last year in the upper secondary school before being graduated. They are my co-teachers who are helping the younger students in doing mathematics during their math lessons or contribute the younger students in doing homework in math during their free period. <br><br>The tutor students benefit by repeating maths and their learning process becomes deeper. The younger students realize how important it is to do maths through a collaborative  method. They can see and feel the mistakes one makes are only to be corrected. The teaching process has becme a social process.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>An important aspect here, as is reflected in so many Hollywood movies, is that <strong>many students quickly come to the conclusion that they are simply not good at Maths and loose motivation and drive to improve</strong>. And this is a problem far beyond our classrooms but also at a much larger economic level. In a time when students’ motivation for studying STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) subjects dramatically needs to be increased all over Europe (only 12% of the European students get a STEM degree, compared to 45% in China), it is <strong>essential we find methods to teach a new, more friendly, enjoyable, useful, a less abstract Mathematics, a subject for each of our students, adapted to their particular skills and competences, a subject that can be more than a tedious hour in the timetable and rather a vehicle for mutual understanding and for communication.</strong></div>]]></description>
