Then, taking him aside, Peter started to remonstrate with him. ‘Heaven preserve you, Lord;’ he said ‘this must not happen to you.’ But he turned and said to Peter, ‘Get behind me, Satan! You are an obstacle in my path, because the way you think is not God’s way but man’s.’
  Then Jesus said to his disciples, ‘If anyone wants to be a follower of mine, let him renounce himself and take up his cross and follow me. For anyone who wants to save his life will lose it; but anyone who loses his life for my sake will find it. What, then, will a man gain if he wins the whole world and ruins his life? Or what has a man to offer in exchange for his life?
  ‘For the Son of Man is going to come in the glory of his Father with his angels, and, when he does, he will reward each one according to his behaviour.’

Peter remonstrated with Jesus as he feels anger and betrayal as he had left behind everything to follow Jesus, hoping for a better life for himself. However, when he heard this, it makes him feel as if whatever he did  for Jesus was nothing and Jesus just "took advantage of him", thus showing his feeling of betrayal. He feels anger as if Jesus already knew that he was going to suffer and die painfully, why would Jesus even go to Jerusalem. He can just avoid the place and not go there and still be with them 
2.If I were Peter, I would not have remonstrated but I would have pleaded with Jesus to not go but instead to stay with us and to lead us for as long as he can and to "push back his death"  (if it is inevitable) for as long as possible. As I am afraid of the sufferings Jesus would have to go through , I am sure that as his follower, the Chief Priests and the Elders would come after me too and I am afraid of going through the able to be avoided pain.]]> 2020-08-29 07:26:30 UTC https://padlet.com/platobose/tcllgn4dcwm3a7o2/wish/706484692 PEEL, MCEE, MICE yee_zheng_xi_samuel_05 https://padlet.com/platobose/tcllgn4dcwm3a7o2/wish/706484826 1. He didnt want Jesus to leave them all alone to die on the cross. They still needed jesus to guide them onto the right path and also in their spiritual life. They were scared and did not know what to do if they didnt have jesus telling them what to do and how to carry on their mission in spreading God's work.
2. I would have done the same thing as Peter. I would have been scared just like him. Jesus had guided them ever since the disciples left everything behind to follow him. They trusted in whatever Jesus did. I think peter remonstrated with Jesus because he feels that without Jesus he is nothing. Which is totally reasonable as Jesus asked them to leave materialistic things behind and follow him but now Jesus renders them speechless by saying he will suffer and die to defeat sin. Jesus is trying to tell the disciples that they need faith and they can work wonders. They just need to believe in God and pray to him when they are in need of help and God will definitely show a way.
 
2. If I was Peter I would ask Jesus politely instead of remonstrating with him. Than Jesus would give some words of wisdom and encouragement. I would not be so doubtful of Jesus and just put all my faith and trust in him. And  I would also turn to him when I am need of help. Jesus will always be there for us in our times of need  and would always give us the best advice. Jesus does not want us to tell him what to do.
