What I learned from this week is that everything has forces and some of them can be an advantage or disadvantage. But we will still thanks sir Isaac Newton for discovering these kinds of force.

In this week, we had our session smoothly even though we had it on Tuesday. We tackled about the different Atomic Theories proposed by different persons like John Dalton, J.J. Thomson, Robert Millikan and many more. I also enjoyed that before we tackled the lessons, Ma’am EJ prepared some little quiz for us to recall what we learned while watching the two supplementary videos that she gave to us ahead of time. I also appreciate the effort Ma’am EJ gave to us when sending supplementary videos ahead of the lessons itself so that we can have an advance reading for the said session. I had a lot of fun answering the questions on the Quizziz (The Website that Ma’am EJ used to make pre-test before the actual lesson), because of the quizzes, i didn’t have a hard time recalling the lessons that I watched on the video. On the session itself, we learned about the atomic theories of matter, how atom and molecules differ from each other and the development of theories through different philosophers and scientist. We also tackled about how different philosophers and scientists have theories and how they compare their theories from the past theories. They also used a lot of methods, for examples are the foil experiment, the Plum Pudding, the Cathode ray and many more. My favourite part in the whole session this week was the part wherein we recall what we learned by watching videos. 

I’ll rate myself 4 in this lesson, I am interested in the topic since it is about different theories about the molecules. 

Overall, I enjoyed topics this week and I am looking forward to the topic for next week.

But before that, we discussed the difference between atoms and molecules. Atom is the smallest singular entity of an entity but a molecule is made of 2 or more atoms.

Also, we built an atom, using a virtual simulation. And I learned that to make the atom stable, we need to add more protons to make the number of neutrons and protons equal. 

I also learned that protons and neutrons are the only contributing factors in the atom’s atomic mass, so, therefore, atomic mass or the mass number is about the total number of neutrons and protons of an atom. The atomic number is the number of protons in the nucleus of an atom.  

Also, we tackled the different forces that acting on the atoms, namely, gravitational, electromagnetic, strong, and weak forces. And the isotopes and ion (anion and cation). 

I learned so many things about this lesson and I’m really happy because I participated in our recitation. Thank you ^_^

Chemistry is really fun to learn and I will never forget the things that ma’am EJ has taught us. 3^rd Quarter lessons is really enjoyable when it comes to games that Ma’am EJ made, experiments that you can do from home, and many more! I really enjoyed the edible atom because I get to eat marshmallows which I really love! All of the things that I learned and I will learn in the next and final quarter will be really fun.
