There are communication interferences, and these interferences mentioned in the video were perspectives, understanding (of the certain topic/subject.), emotions, and noise.

(2) Personally, what problems in communication have you encountered? How did you solve them?
- I often experience passive hearing from someone talking to me as I do things. There are times when I could be doing something and someone approaches and ask or talked to me about something but not making any sense at the end as I can't listen fully to what they've said. On addressing the problem, I sometimes do listen and focus on the speaker's message or take off my earphones/headset just to listen to what they want to say and ending up with a clear conversation.

(3) Have you used any of the solutions mentioned in the video?
- I do use some of the solutions mentioned in the video. For instance, I tend to be open-minded on something which people talk about, where I do listen and exchange ideas with the one I'm talking to. On the other hand comes the giving time (especially when someone's full of emotions before or during the conversation), that's when I ask and give time for them to cool off with their emotions so we could have a clear conversation.

(1) What are the communication interferences mentioned in the video?

Even if you use a well-crafted and diligently applied approach in communications, things can go wrong in terms of your audience understanding your message in the way you intended. Based on the video, the communication interferences that can lead us to confusion, animosity or even misunderstanding are things like perceptual filters such as personal preferences, values, race, gender, ethnicity, religion, or even family background. It can also be based on the relationship with the other person and having a distinct understanding of the message being delivered or received. Moreover, they can be distracted by stimuli noises and even the number of people that are present in the whole conversation.

(2) Personally, what problems in communication have you encountered? How did you solve them?

As I recall, the communication problems I've encountered in the past were caused by typical communication barriers, such as having an emotional barrier. Throughout our entire communication, that person was always putting his anger and pride first. And, in order to overcome the communication barriers I encountered in the past, I will most likely need to learn more about how our emotions work and how to manage them properly. I understand that expressing anger or even pride during a conversation with another person will make it challenging to deliver the proper message to the other person, potentially leading to miscommunication on both sides. Overall, when someone is trying to convey a message to you, even if you disagree, listen to the other parties and understand what they are saying. After that, acknowledge it and be respectful while having a different viewpoint on what his/her message is.

(3) Have you used any of the solutions mentioned in the video? Please elaborate on your answer.

Based on the video, there are solutions to communication barriers mentioned which I used before until now. That we do not need to rush to express ourselves and be open to what the other person may say; rather, we must take the time to understand the message before offering our thoughts. As I learn, I realized that each person in a conversation brings their ideas and feelings that may influence the entire message, and that we should take time to process what the person may say. Simply listen carefully, ask the other person to fully understand the message, acknowledge it, and then provide feedback while remaining sensitive and respectful to the other person. Overall, we just need to remember that although communication is important, as others say, "communication is the key," we also need to comprehend properly and take the time to understand what the other person is saying in order to avoid misunderstandings on both sides.

Also Emotion can lead to miscommunication especially when you can’t control it, noise is also said in the video and lastly miscommunication happens to other person that is listening has his or her own interpretation of what you said.

2) Personally, what problems in communication have you encountered? How did you solve them?

I encounter problems in communication back when election this year was a hot topic, my friend and we have different political view, he thought that I was against to his president because I didn’t vote it, but the truth is my president is more qualified in being president than his president. We solved it by being open minded, we let each other explain slowly and calm until we understand each other point.

3) Have you used any of the solutions mentioned in the video?

The advice that I used every time is "take time to understand as you try to be understood" since, in my opinion, understanding one another will result in excellent communication. For me, it's also a symbol of respect because when someone listens to you and try to understands you, he or she is showing respect to you, and you must return the favor.

The following are the communication interferences highlighted in the video that are relevant to our daily lives:

- Individual views based on information, prior experience, age, race, gender, ethnicity, religion, and family background.

- The other person's relationship with you.

- Interpretation.

- Noises.

- Number of individuals that is present in the conversation.

(2) Personally, what problems in communication have you encountered? How did you solve them?

When I was in high school, the most common communication problem I had was when we had a program. So, if there is no "Balagtasan," it is not a Buwan ng Wika program. The issue is that the program's venue is a busy space with a large audience, so if someone speaks, it will eventually echo and generate noises across the room. The audience does not stop conversing with one another until our Principal decides to stop the program and look for a new site for our program. And that is how the problem is solved.

(3) Have you used any of the solutions mentioned in the video?

Yes, I did use the solution shown in the video, which is to take our time understanding one another as we want to be understood. This solution is highly useful when people experience misunderstandings. When you disagree with others, always use this solution.

What are the communication interferences mentioned in the video?

There are a variety of communication barriers discussed in video that can cause confusion, misunderstanding, misinterpretation, or even animosity, such as taking pride in our own perceptions based on our prior experiences, knowledge, age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, or even personal history. Additionally, a portion of it also depends on the personal relationship between two individuals, how two individuals are understood to refer to each other's points of view, and the semantics and connotations of the words used to discuss the topic. Other cues like noise, emotions, and a variety of other issues can also distract our concentration.

Personally, what problems in communication have you encountered? How did you solve them?

Actually, my only difficulty initiating conversation with people comes from my fear of being judged or validated by others which makes me even more hesitant to approach or engage with someone, which is what may be referred to as an “emotional barrier”. I resolve it by changing my mind and believing that we don't need validation from others to progress in life or to know our worth.

1) What are the communication interferences mentioned in the video?

Communication interferences are things that interrupt or disrupt the flow of communication between people. Based on the video "How miscommunication happens (and how to avoid it) - Katherine Hampsten" that I watched, the communication interferences mentioned are the views of each person, the relationship with other people, the way of understanding the messages, the noises, and the uncertain events such as traffic, grumbling stomach, and others that may interfere with the message, and may lead to uncontrolled emotions.

2) Personally, what problems in communication have you encountered? How did you solve them?

The common communication problem I've encountered is the background noise. Back in my high school days, whenever I was presenting or reciting in class, my friends would always laugh and do funny things to distract me and my presentation. It's also funny but for our teacher, it's bad. I solved this problem by telling them to my teacher or just focusing on what I was doing even though it was difficult.

3) Have you used any of the solutions mentioned in the video?

Yes, I have used the solutions mentioned in the video whenever I talk to my friends, or other people. These solutions can result in a better communication and to avoid miscommunication or misunderstanding. Whenever we communicate, we must pay attention to what people are saying so that we can understand and comprehend it. We must also understand that the response or decoding we receive or send does not necessarily require a quick response or feedback. Let's first understand what they are saying and be careful about the message we can send them to avoid any offensive statement that could lead to conflict.

He thought that I was mad at him, so he did not talk to me every time I tried to talk to him. He only listened to me when the week is over. He said that we wasted many times not talking with each other.

(3) Have you used any of the solutions mentioned in the video? Please elaborate on your answer.

Yes, since communication is part of our daily lives, we must know how to prevent miscommunication so that we will have an healthy communication with the other person we are talking to. The best practice I, personally use is taking time to understand the person talking so that he will also understand what I am saying.

(1) What are the communication interferences mentioned in the video?

As shown in the clip I watched from the TED-Talk on how miscommunication occurs, all of this mentioned how communication takes place and the solutions for preventing it. Communication entanglements arise, and all these goof-ups were listed in the video: message interpretation, noise, emotion, the number of individuals in the discussion, relationship with others, and interoceptive filter.

(2) Personally, what problems in communication have you encountered? How did you solve them?

For me, the problem I encountered in communication was when I was saying something and they didn't understand what I was saying. Apparently, he thought of a different meaning. Just like last year, I was talking to someone and while I was explaining myself, he thought of the purpose differently. How do I solve this miscommunication problem? I explained to him point by point that he misunderstood what I was saying, and that the next time someone speaks, the other person should not interrupt. Because this is a factor that causes miscommunication and misinterpretation of things.

(3) Have you used any of the solutions mentioned in the video?

Yes, just like the problem I encountered in the second question. While speaking, it is appropriate to listen carefully, to finish the speaker so that everyone can have a good communication.

1. What are the communication interferences mentioned in the video?

As mentioned in the video, there are lots of hindrances in communication that can lead to miscommunication. It can cause confusion, animosity, and misunderstanding. One of the communication interferences is emotion. In the video, he mentioned that miscommunication can happen due to traffic, and I can relate to that because I myself am a commuter and I ride public transportation.

2. Personally, what problems in communication have you encountered? How did you solve them?

As of the moment, the communication problem that I always encounter is when my emotions are not in good shape. Every after school, I ride public transportation. The travel from school to my home takes time up to 1 to 2 hours and I always feel hungry during that travel. So, whenever I get home, I am unable to communicate well with the people in the house because my emotions are being affected. Therefore, I solve this by thinking first before I act because the person that I am talking with may have a tendency to misunderstand me, and that can lead to arguments.

3. Have you used any of the solutions mentioned in the video? Please elaborate on your answer.

Yes, I have used one of the solutions that were mentioned in the video. Whenever I am stating my opinion to other people, I always say that it is my personal opinion on the topic that we are having a conversation about. It does not mean that my opinions are the same as the person I am talking with. Therefore, I am understanding their opinion because we can learn from each other's perceptions.

What are the communication interferences mentioned in the video?

Based on the video, one of the communication interference is the person’s emotion. People misunderstood others because of how they feel and sometimes noise can cause interference as seen on the video, the traffic and honking cars caused noise.

2. Personally, what problems in communication have you encountered.

For me, one of the interference in communication that i’ve encountered was background noise. Like the music distracts me and I forget what I am going to say and sometimes, it’s also my emotions. I tend to misunderstood people because I’m stressed or overthinking.

3. Have you used any of the solutions mentioned in the video? Please elaborate on your answer.

Yes. It is the communicate using ears and eyes because it is a lot easier to understand the person you’re talking to if you fully focus on them. Also, I do listen to people carefully to understand more of what they are going to say and so we won’t have miscommunication.

1. What are the communication interferences mentioned in the video?

The communication interferences are as followed:

Perceptual language barrier ( knowledge, experience, age, race, gender, ethnicity, religion, family background)
Noise
Emotion
Stimuli

2. Personally, what problems in communication have you encountered? How did you solve them?

I'm a particular type of person who prefers to steer clear of challenging conversations or what they call silent treatment. I always opted to postpone or put off having a difficult talk for as long as possible when I was faced with the prospect of doing so. When I have to tell someone something they don't want to hear, I tend to find conversations to be challenging, that's why I only choose to avoid conflict. Additionally, it frequently breaks unpleasant news or raises a conflict of interest.
Before I employ silent treatment, it will be better since I can avoid trying situations, and another advantage is that everyone will have more time to reflect independently and decide what is the more moral thing to do.
And now that I am enlightened, I realize that this behavior is very childish and manipulative play. So from then on, I tried to be open, be vocal about the things I was afraid to talk about, and take the initiative to open the lines of communication calmly. Listen and understand their side for more effective communication.

3. Have you used any of the solutions mentioned in the video? Please elaborate on your answer.

Being too fast to speak can lead you to be more difficult than most other things. You might wind up saying or doing things you shouldn't, making commitments you shouldn't, and overall destroying your credibility. We frequently talk first and frequently because we want other people to understand us.
We are more inclined to listen before we talk if we first try to comprehend the other person. By doing that, we can refrain from saying things that, in retrospect, we probably shouldn't have. Additionally, we have a propensity to make more inquiries than declarations, which prevents us from overcommitting and contradicting ourselves.
