There were multiple tweets like the one Mark Ruffalo tweeted about the midterm elections happening in the USA. It was a way to show that in 2016 they thought they were going to get a certain outcome but did not. So, in the midterms everyone was fighting so much harder for their voice to be heard. On election day multiple celebrities posted photos to Instagram with the “I voted” sticker somewhere in the picture. Since they have a big platform millions of people would see the picture. Majority of people who follow celebrities on Instagram do it because they look up to them or want to follow what they do. Facebook took the election very seriously regarding fake news and false information. They had a team that was well educated on the election who were scanning Facebook 24/7 and were taking down false information regarding voting and the polling stations before the voting day came. Snapchat registered over 400,000 before the midterm elections. Snapchat updates the app for American users with a new feature button on the snapchat users profile page two weeks prior to the election date. When clicking the button, it led the user to a website called TurboVote.org. Over 600,000 signed up to receive election reminder dates and times. Majority of those who signed up were between 18 and 24. Social media has hashtags where you type in a word and you can find any post that has that word in it or any post that used the same hashtag that was searched up. With the midterm elections everyone tweeting about it used the hashtag #2018midterms. This was trending on election night which means that it was easier to find. USA president Donald Trump tweeted out a list of polling stations all across the country. Whether you like him or not he still is one source when it comes to the midterm elections. He tweets about everything, so it is an easy way to follow what is happening. Although he most likely tweeted this to get republicans to vote it was still open for democrats to access this list and see where they can vote.

CNN is one of the most reliable news sources in the United States. On election night they had live National Results regarding senate seats, house seats, and governors’ races. They provided accurate information in a timely manner and is one of the most trusted sites when it comes to giving political information. This really helps those who forgot to register or didn’t know how to register online. This article was found on Facebook and gives a good look at poll predictions in multiple states. This information was polled approximately one month before the midterm election date. This gives a good background of information to those who were still undecided with who to vote for. They also show how many people have called and gave their possible vote.
