It was a way to show that in 2016 they thought they were going to get a certain outcome but did not. So, in the midterms everyone was fighting so much harder for their voice to be heard. When celebrities tweet about it and they go viral it brings awareness to those who are not even in that country or voting.

Since they have a big platform millions of people would see the picture. Majority of people who follow celebrities on Instagram do it because they look up to them or want to follow what they do. If they see their favourite celebrity go vote, most likely they will too.

https://youtu.be/QcUsLHzrRTA Washington Post posted a post-election video on YouTube that went over some of the big winners and losers of the 2018 USA midterm elections. It is a great idea to do a post-election video as some people might not have caught all the results that happened the previous night. With the time difference between east and west coast, as well as recounts, and results that were taking a long time to come in a lot of citizens might not have stayed up to see all the results.

They had a team that was well educated on the election who were scanning Facebook 24/7 and were taking down false information regarding voting and the polling stations before the voting day came. It is important that people are fed the correct information, so they do not make the wrong choice in who to vote for.

Snapchat updates the app for American users with a new feature button on the snapchat users profile page two weeks prior to the election date. When clicking the button, it led the user to a website called TurboVote.org. Over 600,000 signed up to receive election reminder dates and times. Majority of those who signed up were between 18 and 24. There were also multiple video messages incorporated throughout the app encouraging users to register and vote.

With the midterm elections everyone tweeting about it used the hashtag #2018midterms. This was trending on election night which means that it was easier to find. You could also find it without even looking up the hashtag all people had to do was look at the trending topics to find any information about the election.

Whether you like him or not he still is one source when it comes to the midterm elections. He tweets about everything, so it is an easy way to follow what is happening. Although he most likely tweeted this to get republicans to vote it was still open for democrats to access this list and see where they can vote.

Although they might be called fake news, majority of people tuned into CNN or found this site for their election information.

This really helps those who forgot to register or didn’t know how to register online. This got shared on Tumblr and most likely also got spread to multiple other social media websites to inform people who might not have seen the announcement.

This information was polled approximately one month before the midterm election date. This gives a good background of information to those who were still undecided with who to vote for. They also show how many people have called and gave their possible vote. It also shows the margin of error % to show that it may not be correct, but it is an approximate voter poll in that certain precinct.
