JaKaylen Smalls, I feel like on one hand he was a hero because him 'finding' the land contributed to how we all got here today, and all that we know. History makes the future. But as we all know he is a big villain. The fact that he would take land from those who would work so hard to put so much in the land is cruel.

Jania Thomas: Honestly, I don't think Columbus was much of a hero. Firstly, he had the audacity to come to America and stole the land that the Native Americans had been living on for quite a bit of time before he got there. Secondly, He brought illnesses that the Native Americans did not have the resources nor the immune systems to fight off those illnesses. In conclusion, there is no way that he could be a hero, even if him arriving in America created a way for us to be here today.

Cristopher Ortiz- I say he’s a villain because he took land from the Indians and treated them in a wrong way. But he did start a new beginning, but I wouldn’t call him a hero for that.

Alejandro Medina: Columbus was a huge villian due to the genocide that ensued following his discovery of their land. This genocide goes down in history as one of the most inhumane slaughters and is honestly comparable to the holocaust.

Doris Onyeanula: Columbus was ultimately a villain because he took ownership over land that did not belong to him and sparked a chain which eventually secluding the Native Americans in their own land. Not to mention the widespread of disease which killed many native people.

Colby McFarland- I feel that Columbus was both because from a European perspective he is a hero that found a land and riches. on the other hand Columbus is a villain in the native's eyes because to obtain that land and riches he had to slaughter the native people. However i feel that he is more of a villain.

Erin Harrison-Sobakin: I don't think Columbus went out looking to be the bad guy and killing everybody on their own land, but at the end of the day that is what he surely did. Not only did he do that, but he also played a large role in wiping out the existence of indigenous people from history by claiming he found "new land" and using the word discovered like there wasn't anybody already living there and educating him on how to work and survive on their land.

Nedim Numanovic: Columbus may have discovered America; however, in the process ended up forcefully taking the Native's land and killing millions of them from European diseases. That being said, I consider him a villain because of that fact.

Myiah Roseman- Personally I feel as If, Christopher Columbus wasnt a great hero. He took credit of "discovering the Americas", In all reality, he forced the natives into slaved labor. When to Spain, took other spainards and that resulted into more than 90 percent of there population was wiped out due to dieases that they couldn't fight off. Also, He was an womanizer.

Genesis Hill- I think it depends on who's perspective you look at it from. To the Europeans he seems like a hero because he discovered "new" land. To the natives, he's a villain because he took their home and made them into slaves.
