He decides to get off and wash up on the beach. if he would of never did all that zaroff. would have never have had game to chace.

Turns out the guy name is ivan and hes the owner of the island body gaurd. Then near was the owner, (zaroff).

Zaroff is a very handsome/scary looking guy who has pitch black eyes. As rainsford and zaroff continues to conversate, rainsford finds out that zaroff hunts humans instead of animals because zaroff is afraid of being bored. he also makes humans play a particular game called survivors, which is the most dangerous game.

"And why not?"

Rainsford tries to escape in the jungle and when it got dark he finds a tree to sleep in. He decides to sleep in the tree to avoid wild animals and zaroff dogs. the next morning zaroff goes out looking for rainsford and ends up standing near the tree rainsford was in. zaroff purposely pulls out a cigar and lights it so that rainsford would cough or make some type of noise. Well, rainsford did make a small noise and zaroff climbed slowly up the tree but once he get to the top he realizes rainsford was gone.

"The hunter shook his head several times, as if he were puzzled. Then he straightened up and took from his 
case one of his black cigarettes; its pungent incenselike smoke floated up to [my] nostrils." pg. 12

Rainsford waited for zaroff to get down from the tree so he could attack. Zaroff got down and rainsford quickly jumped on zaroffs back and stabbed him right in the neck. Then after that he stole zaroffs pistol and went to ivan and shot him right in the head. Now rainsford and whitney are happily living in the island and the mansion.
