Culture in my opinion are customs and beliefs that are practiced by individuals that slowly changes through assimilation from generation to generations either through language, food, dress music etc. According to the article, Understanding Culture culture is defined as The system of shared beliefs, values, customs, behaviors, and artifacts that the members of society use to interact with their world and with one another. Culture is a combination of thoughts, feelings, attitudes, beliefs, values, and behavior patterns that are shared by racial, ethnic, religious, or social groups of people.

Meaning of Beauty

Beautiful to me means 'pleasing to the eye'. The concept of Beauty differs to individuals. Since I was born I have been trained to believe by society that the beauty of a woman would take on the white race features, blond hair, thin lips, white skin and this is mirrored in my Jamaican culture by many to come close to this beauty. I have seen women and men bleach their skin, thinking that this would be pleasing to society. That was old thoughts of beauty, new thought of beauty to me embodies every aspect of my mother, very beautiful, dark chocolate skin, dark brown eyes, wide hips, asymmetrical shaped body and beautiful white teeth. Her constant loving personality for the community is beautiful a contrast to societal standards.
