         <description><![CDATA[Commercial broadcasters use advertising to fund their broadcasting operations for a profit.  they are mainly free to the general public and are usually funded by an advertising revenue. All commercial terrestrial stations are funded by advertising. This is different very different to public service broadcasting. ]]></description>

The owner of Sky Rupert Murdoch, agreed on 11th July 2018 to a takeover by 21st Century Fox, the US entertainment giant, valuing it at £24.5bn. Fox, which is already Sky’s biggest shareholder with a 39.1% stake, agreed to buy out other shareholders at a price of £14 a share. ]]></description>
