Burmese Tourmalin

Comes from Brazil and Africa. Some placer material suitable for gem use comes from Sri Lanka and India.
Tourmalines of all colors are faceted into gems for jewelry.
Is the accepted gem for the 8th wedding anniversary. The name Tourmaline comes from the Sinhalese (Sri Lanka) word tura mali which translates as the stone of mixed colors. These stones are 7 to 7.5 on the Mohs scale of hardness.
Is a mineral and its very beautiful,
