Students will apply coding principles to perform designated tasks and solve problems. The</p><p>course intends to provide an introduction to the fundamental concepts of composing and running a program using a</p><p>programming language such as Visual C++. Although there are no prerequisites for this course, students should be advised</p><p>that the class involves abstract reasoning and those who struggle in math classes may find parts of this course difficult to</p><p>follow.</p><p><strong>COMPUTER GAME DESIGN</strong></p><p>One semester class, 1/2 credit Open to students in grades 9-12</p><p>This introductory class in computer logic provides students with an entry point to understanding simple computer software.</p><p>Students will engage in highly-structured computer programming exercises designed to test a student’s ability to think logically</p><p>and to follow a deliberate plan. Students who are interested in learning how to code are encouraged to consider either Web</p><p>Design and Development or Beginning Computer Programming instead of Computer Game Design.</p><p><strong>STEAM PLANES, TRAINS &amp; AUTOMOBILES</strong></p><p>One semester, 1/2 credit Open to students in grades 9-12</p><p>Prerequisite: None</p><p>A semester-long course open to all students in any grade level. Transportation issues in the form of projects and activities will</p><p>be covered. Projects such as: paper airplanes, wind cars, stomp rockets, quadricycles, self paddling boats, maglev, train wheel</p><p>science in addition to several other projects will be covered. Students will learn about topics through Project Based Learning</p><p><strong>THE TECHNOLOGY OF BIOLOGY</strong></p><p>One semester, 1/2 credit Open to students in grades 9 -12</p><p>Prerequisite: None</p><p>82</p><p>This course explores the intersection of biology and technology, guiding students through hands-on projects, collaborative</p><p>problem-solving, and ethical discussions. From tackling real-world biological challenges to exploring the impact of technology</p><p>on bioethics, using the steps of the engineering design process. They will be encouraged to think critically, collaborate with</p><p>(PBL). The engineering design cycle will be utilized to explore the topic of transportation design.</p><p><strong>INTRODUCTION TO ENGINEERING DESIGN (IED)</strong></p><p>Semesters 2, 1 credit Open to students in grade 9-12</p><p>IED is the second course in a sequence of four courses which follows the national Project Lead the Way (PLTW) curriculum.</p><p>Students use a problem-solving model to improve existing products and invent new ones. They learn how to apply this model to</p><p>solve problems in and out of the classroom. Using sophisticated three-dimensional modeling software, students communicate</p><p>the details of the products. Emphasis is placed on analyzing potential solutions and communicating ideas to others.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>PE Waiver ?</strong></p><p><em>You do not turn in the PE Waiver until</em><strong><em> AFTER</em></strong><em> you have completed the requirement - so after you complete the 2 seasons of a sport or 2 years of marching band/rotc then you complete the form - On school links just hit continue when PE pops up - and add your other electives at the end ;)</em></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Log in to classlinks - click  school links (see it near the bottom)- click the apple - click course plan -  View your recommended courses - add your electives - If PE comes up and you are not taking a PE class next year, just hit continue (top right corner) - do the same with any other elective just hit continue at the end there will be a place to view what you have chosen -  You can then plan the remainder of your HS course plan - this is a draft do not worry - you can always change 10-12 as you move along - when finished hit SUBMIT - You can many any changes/edits when you meet with HS Counselors the week of March 11th -</p>]]></description>
