         <description><![CDATA[<div>A formal argument states a position on a substantive topic and then supports that position with reasons and evidence. Formal arguments to make readers believe something and in many cases, to take some type of action. <br>Every argument has two sides<br>A strong Argument...<br>-shows an understanding of the issue.<br>-includes a precise claim that states the writer's position. <br>-provides local reasons to supports the writer's claim.<br>-supports reasons with sufficient and relevant evidence.<br>-organizes reasons and evidence logically.<br>-fairly and respectfully argues against opposing side of view. <br>-clearly shows the relationship between ideas has a formal style and a confident tone.<br>-concludes with the restatement of the claim...<br>A claim is a writers position on a problem or issue. <br>When arguing, you make one claim and you stick with it throughout the whole thing.<br>To be effective, claims should be repeated to be stated.<br><br><strong>Supporting reasons</strong>&nbsp;<br>gives you details&nbsp;<br>materials to are used to support a claim.<br>A reason is a statement that explains to reader why they should believe their claim.&nbsp;<br>Facts are statements that can be proven&nbsp;<br>Statistics-are facts stated in numbers.&nbsp;<br>Quotations- are exact word for word&nbsp; statements from others. Quotations form experts on the topi<br>Anecdotes- are brief stories or accounts of events that prove a point above the topic.&nbsp;<br>When developing an argument, make sure the ideas and details match your topic. &nbsp;<br><br>what makes a strong conclusions?
