Facing the Reality of Aging

Good morning, ladies and gentlemen.

Today I’d like to share some personal reflections on an issue that has become important in my life: the passage of time. As I getting older. Every day I get tired more easily, my eyesight is getting worse, and every year I notice more gray hairs and wrinkles on my face. I know these changes are normal for everyone.

I consider myself lucky to have achieved important goals in my life. I believe I have built a successful career; I have a job, good friends, and a wonderful family. However, sometimes I find it hard to accept that life comes to an end. Although, as a biologist, I understand that aging and death are natural processes, emotionally I still struggle with this reality; I’ve even thought about seeing a psychologist or a thanatologist, but I’m not sure if it would help me.

In conclusion, I have to accept the passage of time to live a fulfilling life. Instead of obsessing over the past, I’m going to try to learn to value my experiences and love the people around me. I hope to face the future with gratitude, acceptance, and peace.

Thank you for your attention.

Water Supply in Mineral de la Reforma, Hidalgo

Greetings to the audience. I´m here this time to address a particular issue. Mineral de la Reforma is a municipality in Hidalgo of about 237,000 inhabitants. As an average, water consumption ranges between 130-180 liters daily per person or, 31 to 43 million liters in a day. To understand this risky condition, I will refer to the effects of the expanding urban stain over the infiltration of water into the underground stream.

Unless a porous and permeable material is used in the construction of streets and avenues, infiltration of rainfall water into the underground stream is significantly reduced. Furthermore, in case this type of material is used, this material cannot separate contaminants from rainfall water. Also, it must be considered that these contaminants are mostly derived from human activities. Therefore, water infiltration is reduced and contaminants added due to expansion of urban settlements throughout the whole municipality.

In conclusion, future water-resource management must prioritize delivering a reliable and sustainable water supply to an ever-growing population. Are we approaching this crisis with enough foresight, or have we fallen into a pattern of thinking more while building less? The answer may well determine the future of water security.

How AI impact in teaching and learning English?

Hello everyone, I would to talk about how Artificial Intelligence (AI) affects the teaching and learning of English. AI has become an important educational tool that offers many benefits for both teachers and students.

One advantage of AI is that it provides immediate support for language practice. Tools such as ChatGPT and Gemini can help students translate texts, practice conversations, improve their writing, and generate ideas for projects. When students use effective prompts, these tools can support their learning process.

AI can also help develop speaking skills. Students can create dialogues with ChatGPT or Gemini and then use NaturalReader to listen to the text and practice pronunciation. In addition, Leonardo AI can generate images that illustrate vocabulary and classroom projects, making learning more engaging and creative.

However, AI also has some disadvantages. Students may become too dependent on these tools, and AI-generated information is not always accurate. Therefore, teachers must guide students in using AI responsibly and critically.

In conclusion, AI is transforming English teaching and learning. When combined with teacher guidance, it can enhance communication, creativity, and language development while creating more meaningful learning experiences.

Fair Trade

Good morning mates!

How are you? How do you feel today, at this moment? Have you had breakfast? Do you know where your breakfast comes from? Who has to work hard for you to have the benefit and comfort of drink that cup of coffee? For example.

Let me tell you something. There is a project called Fair trade. It was originated as a movement in the United States during the 1940s, where a range of products made by artisans or farmers began to be sold for the first time. These local producers faced challenges such as low prices in the international market and their dependence on intermediaries.

The first Fair Trade Organization was created to support this movement. Throughout the years, fair trade experienced significant growth, which fostered the development of many producers in various parts of the world. It became a global movement, as well as a solidarity-based and alternative trading system (CECJ, 2016).

Therefore, this new trading alternative emerged with the aim of supporting the work of small, disadvantaged producers and promoting the consumption of their products by guaranteeing a fair price and the opportunity to access international markets. Among the products traded under the fair trade model are food and primary sector products (coffee, cocoa, vegetables, sugar, fruits, honey, nuts, spices, etc.); handicrafts, jewelry, textiles, liquors, cosmetics, ornamental plants, and others (Marcillo, 2016).

So, think about it, if each of your sip of coffee is fairly. Thanks.
