Definition:
The layer surrounding the outermost part of the atmosphere- colorless and unstable toxic gas with a pungeon odor and powerful oxidizing properties formed by electrical discharges or ultraviolet light which traps heat and aids in global warming.

Causes:
Carbon dioxide, CFC's (chlorofluorocarbons) and other greenhouse gases rise upward to the edge of the atmosphere and become trapped by the ozone layer.

Effects:
When inhaled, ozone can cause damage to the lungs, but if the levels are too low it can cause chest pains and shortness of breath. Ozone can worsen previous conditions such as asthma, can increase temperatures on Earth, and can create stronger UV rays that are on Earth.
