Provide a short article that presents multiple perspectives on the role of competitive sports in schools. After reading, students return to their original position or move if their opinion has changed.

Students then participate in a fitness circuit focused on cardiovascular endurance.

They then complete an exit slip before they exit the gym: “What did you learn today about how cardiovascular exercise affects your body? What’s one way you could improve your cardiovascular fitness outside of school?”

Students discuss or annotate key takeaways:

• Why is hydration important?

• What are signs of dehydration?

• How much water should athletes drink?

They then write a tweet that captures the most important message from the reading.
