One of my most admired people in the industry is Kathleen Martinez, though she is an amateur in the field she used the mix of her Law background and passion for history to aid her in her quest for Cleopatras grave. She became the closest person to discovering her resting place and showed how a love for History can lead you to great discoveries.

At minimum you need to have a major in your given field before you can start to do field work and internship in your chosen area. The field I am interested in is more appreciative of experience than tertiary qualifications.

My professional identity is an ever-changing part of who I am reflecting the morals and values that I hold. I hold education as one of my most important values, I strongly believe that all people deserve to have access to an education and to have the knowledge they seek. By looking at employment trends we can see that there is a shortage of not only teachers but an educator shortage in Australia leading to the increase in incentives to encourage educators. By understanding what my end goal is I was able to break it down into smaller goals and aim it towards small achievable goals that I can use as indicators of how close to my dream I am. Understanding what skills and qualifications are needed for my dream career has also aided in the creation of my professional identity with a new understanding of the jobs that can aid me in receiving real-world experience in my chosen career.I believe that through my understanding of my identity, I have allowed for a more cohesive plan for my future as well as the skills to seek out opportunities that would be most beneficial towards me professionally.
