However I don't find that necessarily a bad thing. My definition of freedom is that anyone can do anything regardless of the consequences. We obviously don't have that because we have laws in place. One isn't allowed to murder for example, because murder hinders society. However these laws to restrict certain freedoms are what keeps the world running. In order for society to work, we need to restrict freedom, the challenge is to minimize how much freedom we restrict while still remaining functioning. The world state, while not having strict law punishment, have strict laws and implied laws to keep society stable. We have a lot of freedom, however, we do not have the freedom to do whatever we want whenever we want. For example if someone wanted to grow a tree in the middle of a road that would not be allowed even though you have the freedom to grow trees. The person would have to go through a process explaining specifics about how they can act.

An example of this is demonstrated when the author argues the corruptness of the media by expressing, "And if, by chance, the people don't like a mass movement that trumpets freedom because they recognize a deception, the media will call it freedom 24/7 anyway, because they're paid to" (Rappoport 1). In other words, the author demonstrates how the media, who acts an agent for the people, is corrupted by intentionally misinforming on significant matters for money. I agree with this statement since CNN has been known to place its personal agendas ahead of its duty to serve the public.
