If i had to be any animal in the world, i would be a penguin. They live out in the middle of nowhere, in the cold and they mate for life. or id be a cat. because a cat is a cat, and being a cat is the most cat thing a cat can do. (No i did not write that to breach the word count and you cant prove otherwise).

Becoming an icon amongst Australia, Perth native Kevin Parker is best known as being the main mind behind the beloved band Tame Impala. I've been a mega fan of his work since 2019, being the person who made me want to become a self produced artist. His use of things like synths, and his somewhat lo-fi production have made him stand out in my mind, as well as being a source of some really interesting sounds. His lyrical content is also both inspirational and comforting, ranging from unrequited love to loneliness.

The Flaming Lips, formed in 1983, have become well known for their quintessential psych rock, that has made them a stand out act within the genre. Tame Impala were initially a psychedelic rock band, with album's like "Innerspeaker" and "Lonerism", their colourful rock sound clearly had heavy influence from The Flaming Lips and their unique takes on different sounds and how they could be implemented into psychedelic music.

Despite being a quiet, and possibly nuts, guy from Cornwall, England, Richard David James, or as he's better known as Aphex Twin, has cemented himself as one of the most important figures in the electronic genre, even if people don't even know his name. While Kevin hasn't talk alot about Richard, his influence has bled into his music, as it had done with all electronic music. For example, "Nangs" is a wobbly drugged out interlude which feels more like Kevin experimenting with what synth sound can be.

Seen as the "Australian Queen Of Pop", Kylie Minogue has maintained a fairly high statitse in the Pop scene worldwide. Tame Impala's 3rd album, "Currents" was heavily inspired by pop music. With Kevin actually describing himself once as a "Pop Fetishist". Alot of pop standards, such as chord progressions, heavy use of synths as well as clean production, have become the Kevin Parker standard. Not just in Tame Impala but across everything he has worked on, ranging from Travis Scott, Kanye West (Before he went mental) and Dua Lipa

Quadeca has managed to achieve what very few have, to go beyond just a "Youtube Rapper" and solidify himself in the underground rap world as a artist to watch out for. Despite me only discovering him relatively recently, his music, specifically his 2 newest projects, "I Didn't Mean To Haunt You" and "SCRAPYARD" and their folk tinged experimental edge has become a obsession of mine. Ranging from its beautiful texture and production, being done by Quadeca himself, to his some what abstract lyrics, talking about things like heartbreak and death.

Eminem is one of the most iconic rappers to ever exist and one of the first people you'd think of when you think of a "White Rapper". Alot of Quadeca's rapping, specifically his earlier stuff, sounds alot like Em, in fact, Quadeca started rapping due to him. Some of his flows, especially on his earlier music, share alot of similarities to Em's flows, specifically the stereotypical lyrical spiritual miracle fast rap that em popularised with his song "Rap God"

George Miller, by his very nature, has always been ahead of the curb. As a former youtuber gone alternative R&B artist, his influence on Quadeca makes itself pretty apparent on his newest material. Sharing similarities to Joji's dark and lo-fi sound, but also how Joji went from an internet personality to a well respected musician. Quadeca has taken a very simialr path, but has arguably made better music than Joji has despite being 8 years younger than him.

For 6 years (2017-2023) Kritian Hayter's moniker, Lingua Ignota (meaning Unknown Language in Latin), became known for her brutal and heavily religious music revolving around themes of trama that she has experienced throughout her life. Her folk sound has clearly been an influence on Quadeca's third album "I Didn't Mean To Haunt You". The story being from the perspective of Quadeca's dead self plays really well to these sounds
