Perspective shift...

I appreciate the way the author asks this question. It brings up a huge perspective shift in our role as teachers. How do we do this? "Does the teacher view him/herself as a facilitator of learning as opposed to the provider of knowledge?" I'd love to hear some of your ideas...
Jamie

Teacher as Facilitator of Learning

After reading the article, it brought me back to what we have been discussing in our book study group. I would like to find ways to create a "cogen" with students where they would eventually facilitate their own learning and teaching to other students, including myself. Of course, this would be more practical if we were able to meet in-person. Wondering how we can facilitate this idea virtually?
-Allison Bracken

I like the concept of using case studies (subjects) to allow students to discover the "bigger idea of the concept" or unit of inquiry. This also lets the students to be the one doing the work (mind) and then the teacher becomes more of facilitator.
