Take the same concentration of the metals provided in three different test tubes. <br>2. Add the same amount (1.5 mole) of HCl in each test tube and observe the reaction. <br>3. Note the time taken for the particular reaction. and compare the results. <br><br>   observations:<br>1. Aluminium: did not react, no change after 5 minutes<br>2. Zinc: reacted under 1 minute <br>3. magnesium: reacted immediately<br><br>Conclusion: Magnesium is the most reactive metal out of the three given metals.<br><br><br><br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong><em><mark>Learning Objective: Investigate a factor which alters the rate of reaction.</mark></em></strong><strong><em><br></em></strong><br><strong>Independent variable:</strong> Concentration of HCl with Zinc.<br><br><strong>Dependent variable:<br></strong>Time taken for reaction.<br><br><strong>Controlled Variable:</strong><br>Surface Area of substance, Temperature of system, nature of reactants.<br><br><strong>Hypothesis:<br></strong>As the concentrations of HCl increases, the rate of reaction should increase.<br><br><strong>Procedure:</strong></div><ul><li>Prepare 3 different concentrations of HCl.</li><li>Take the same amount of Metal or Salt in the test tubes.</li><li>After preparing different concentrations of HCl, add 2 or 3 drops of it to each test tube containing the magnesium.</li><li>As the white crystals of ZnCl<sub>2 </sub>are formed we can mark the end of the reaction.</li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><em><mark>LEARNING OBJECTIVE</mark></em><em>:</em> INVESTIGATE A FACTOR THAT AFFECTS THE RATE OF A REACTION <br><br><em><mark>INDEPENDENT VARIABLE </mark></em>- concentration of HCl <br><br><em><mark>DEPENDENT VARIABLE -</mark></em> time taken for the reaction<br><br><em><mark>CONTROLLED VARIABLE  -</mark></em> surface area of zinc<br><br><em><mark>PROCEDURE</mark></em>: take an amount of a metal into a test tube  and add a mole(say 1 mole) of HCl into it.<br>now we have to measure the time taken to complete the reaction and note it.<br>we have to repeat the step 1 and step 2 for the two metals and compare the time taken for these reactions of metals.<br><em><mark>PREDICTION</mark></em>: zinc would have the fastest reaction among the other metals<br><em><mark>OBSERVATION</mark></em>: zinc reacts very slowly with HCl the time taken is approximately 8 seconds.Whereas aluminium has no change.Magnesium in another state had a rapid response to HCl and it took about 3 minutes to complete the reaction<br><em><mark>CONCLUSION</mark></em>: aluminium had no change with HCl and zinc reacted slower compared to magnesium and magnesium was the fastest reaction and my prediction was hence not true. zinc is the slowest reaction.</div>]]></description>
