As we have been learning about different regions of the world, we are going to explore a specific region. Today we will be visiting the Amazon Rainforest. It is home to the greatest river in South America and the largest drainage system in the world. Its river is 4,000 miles long and it’s only shorter than the Nile River. It is the same distance from New York to Rome. Today Jeff Corwin will be we will be our tour guide as he shows us different animals that live in the Amazon rainforest.

I think it would be very beneficial to have a trip for each biome and have the students write down and point out the different aspects and animals of each region of the world. They would know what to look for and identify after learning about each one and they would have a visual of what these places might actually like look. It would be easy for them to look more and visualize what they are learning about. I would assign a project for them to recreate a rainforest using a shoebox and adding animals from that region. I would also have a quiz about the different animals Jeff Corwin featured.
