  • ASEAN was formed at the beginning to seek political, military, and economic cooperation, mainly to resolve internal disputes in the region and resist the influence of superpowers. Now, both ASEAN and the European Union are committed to promoting economic development, but ASEAN has clearer national sovereignty, but they do not have a common currency like the European Union, and they do not have a strong enough country to lead the organization.
