I think anyone who complied with Hitler's selfish and horrific ways is a part of the problem. Hitler was not just born with power. People around him led him to it and supported him through it, even while having full knowledge of the tragic things he was putting Jews and many others through. Bruno chose to go under the fence despite knowing he wasn't supposed to and despite his gut saying he should turn back—Bruno is at fault. Bruno didn't turn back because his father never warned him or properly educated him about their situation—his father is at fault. Bruno's family only came to "Out-With" because Hitler ordered his father to—Hitler is at fault. Hitler rose to power because society let him—society is at fault. Bruno's death isn't the fault of one specific person, but many contributed to his fate without even realizing it.

Father didn't educate Bruno on what is happening and why not to go to the Jew's side. In fact, no one warned Bruno about what was happening period. Bruno didn't listen to his gut or Father when they told him not to go to the Jew's side. And unlike my classmates, I'm going to add another person, Shmuel. He is the one who lifted the fence encouraging Bruno to come over. Bruno never would have thought about it if he didn't. Also, Shmuel knew about the dangers but he still insisted on bringing Bruno over. When Bruno wanted to turn around Shmuel guilt-tripped him into staying and helping him. I think if Shmuel would have just let him leave and walked with him to the fence they both would be alive.

On the bigger picture, the Nazi’s are to blame. Without them none of the events leading up to Bruno’s death would have happened. Or maybe the The Treaty of Versailles is to blame for putting Germany in the circumstances for the Nazis to take power. Bruno’s Father can be blamed for being a Nazi commander and moving his family here. Shmuel can be blamed for encouraging him to go into Auschwitz. Or Bruno himself can be blamed for not listening to his parents, and choosing to go in. To me though I blame Bruno’s parents for not keeping an eye on him. He had these death camps made and operating. He ordered Father to go work at Out-With. I of course think his parents hold some of the blame for not educating him and keeping a better eye on what he was up to.
