A meaning in Referential theory is when a word has managed to refers into a meaningful expression. The problematic that occurs in meaning and Referential theory is that a single word may have more than one meaning. This dismisses in determining the true meaning of the word. For example, word such as ‘to’ or ‘in’ is meaningful but it is not considered recognizable. I personally disagree with the problematic that occurs since this problem only applied to certain word, whereas Referential theory itself has helped a lot of words in declaring their meaningful expression.

 

Representational theory

Representational theory is when a person mind would produce images, ideas or thoughts when given any kind of word. For example, when a person heard the word ‘Apple’, an image of a red or green apple might appear in the person’s mind. The problem with this theory is that it would be difficult for a person’s mind to produce an images, ideas, or thoughts if they never heard or associated with the word before. I agree with this theory since if we never heard or associated with a word before, then it would be difficult to determine the images or the resemblance that were represented by the word.

The Pringles brand mascot changed into a more simplify and modernize design. 

Example 2 - Nokia Phone in 2000

The Nokia phone in the 2000 is still on the feature phone (dumb phone) system. One of the well known example of feature phone is the Nokia 3310. 

The symbol and the meaning of Pancasila will be constant as it is the foundation of the Indonesia country.

Example 2 - Paris, France

The capital of France is Paris. The city of Paris will be a constant as the capital of France country.
