After reading the true case study i feel Mcdonalds is wrong in this scenario as they have had many complaints that their coffee is extremely hot and even burnt over 700 people . if a coffee is hot enough to give third degree burns it shouldn't be served at all. i agree with Johns ideas because neglagince cant be claimed as she spilled the coffee on accident.

My views have not changed. I still believe Mcdonalds is guilty. There has been over 700 reports of injury of coffee. So this has happened before. Also coffee takes 3 to 7 seconds to burn you so Liebeck wouldn't have enough time to wipe the coffee off. Plus she was wearing sweatpants which is more absorbent.

Based on the new information Mcdonalds is even more at fault and liable for a multitude of reasons. In this persoanl case Liebeck was in a stopped vechcile so you cant claim neglagince on her part and the spill was just an average mishap, which granted these happen but the important factor is that this 79 year od lady had only 2-3 seconds to react and clean herself up before third degree burns set in which isnt even enough time to relaize what had happened. But the greatest factor in this case is the neglagince Mcdoanlds showed with their coffee, hundreds fo complaints were made to Mcdonalds and not once did they try to fix it. Mcdonalds owes Liebcek even more than previously thought.
