I still believe Mcdonalds is guilty. There has been over 700 reports of injury of coffee. So this has happened before. Also coffee takes 3 to 7 seconds to burn you so Liebeck wouldn't have enough time to wipe the coffee off. Plus she was wearing sweatpants which is more absorbent.

In this persoanl case Liebeck was in a stopped vechcile so you cant claim neglagince on her part and the spill was just an average mishap, which granted these happen but the important factor is that this 79 year od lady had only 2-3 seconds to react and clean herself up before third degree burns set in which isnt even enough time to relaize what had happened. But the greatest factor in this case is the neglagince Mcdoanlds showed with their coffee, hundreds fo complaints were made to Mcdonalds and not once did they try to fix it. Mcdonalds owes Liebcek even more than previously thought.
