I think this could be a good idea for tourists, or even local people. But, the fact they want to create an artificial group of island is not ecological. This idea will create more problems than resolve it or give solutions.

Nowaday, when we talk about tourism we always try to reash an ecological approach. This project doesn't enter in this category.

Moreover, in a human part, this project does not take into account the human working conditions during its construction. This part is also a bad point that we need to take into account when we think about this project.

The world is a group of island that is organised to represent the map of the world when you are in an helicopter you can recognise the differents continent. This is mainly for the tourists and some accomodations for locals and some private island for rich people. All of this islands are connecting with hub.

Unfortunately even if it brings locals accomadation and improve the tourism and the work, the way they build this are not at all an ecological way to do it. They destroy something to bring sand there. For me this project is only to show to the world that dubai can do this are powerful and has lots of money, but what i see is only that they are selfish because it didn't help the world because it's not ecological at all.

I think this project sounds like a drunk idea or a dystopian movie that was actually put into reality. I think it adds nothing more to Dubai and is just a waste of ressources and free pollution to the waters. Even if it is quite fun and thought-provoking, I don't see how it fits in today's global challenges and sustainable goals.

The World in Dubai is something surreal because you can create any artificial island.
It represents the world was created by the prince.

it is positive because it brings a lot of type of job not necessarily in the hotel catering

But I think the zero point is that it is not too ecological because we must be able to make and even build these islands

I am fascinating by this kind of project and so I completely follow the evolution of the project but, I don't want to avaid the huuuuuge ecological impact that destroy completely the planet. So it's not a good idea in term of realisation but in term of innovation yes.

" The World " as a tourist project is an interesting project which can have positive and negative points.

The positive point is that it will create more jobs in Dubai but unfortunately concerning the ecology part it won't be very good so that will be a negative point for this project.

To my mind, this project is a real development of entertainment in the tourism, it's new and unusual, it create new experiences. Even if the impact of construction would be huge, the sector need this type of innovation to involve and to respond to the client needs.

"The World" seems like an ambitious project, but it is not necessarily positive for the environment. I don't think these kind of projec creates a good image of the country internationally. We could ask ourselves ; are there no other priorities than recreating some island in the form of the world ? We could guess that it is creating some jobs, and it gives visibility to Dubai. But in reality, it only gives a bad image, showing that they misuse their money and ressources, while destroying the environment.

This project fits well with the city of Dubai which is considered one of the most luxurious cities in the world and not the most ecological but nowadays tourists are looking to go to a city that will be very appreciate so that it can enjoy their working time if This is a business trip and their vacation if it is a trip for pleasure but still to have respect for the environment with a share of ecology in the projects to install in any city. I think it is not better to carry out this project because I think it will not attract that much tourists but can be more local. But if that’s what he’s looking for, it might be a good idea.

I found this project unnecessary and not sustainable.

I don't understand the concept on creating a map of the world from anything.

The project started in 2003 and its only a way for investors to show their money. I read that it need to be constantly maintain to the surface because its made of sand.

This project is not sustainable at all. It's only a waste of money knowing that they are other problems in the world ...

I find this exciting project on the marketing and innovation side, the futuristic and ingenious side of this archipelago is remarkable. However, given the labor policy in dubai, the ecological problems and largely the sand shortage that affects this country and the world in large part. I am not re-elected excited by the project and finally seems more destructive than positive.

I think this project is a great idea and it's a massive project very futuristic. But in another way, it's not eco-friendly, the work conditions for the locals are not ideal because they are "forced" to work under a big heat. This project can be a great idea but it had to be done in another way maybe.

I think that the world of Dubai is a really good idea in term of esthetic, but if we look at the ecological point, I think is the baddest idea. They use to much ressources for something not necessarie. The surface is between 25 000 m2 and 80 000m2 wich is huge. To conclude it's not necessarie and a waste of time, ressources, and it's not sustainable.

The project « The World » is a nice idea and innovative one. The expats can find a part of their country and try to feel same that at home.

But the big problem is the ecological part with a really bad impact. Écology isn’t the principal consideration of UAE and this is really sad to see it.

UAE want everyone in their country to increase and develop but I think they are doing it with the bad way.

For me, it's a very bad idea because this project is a big threat for the environment.

I don't know what thinking about this project, because in one hand this is ultra innovative, with a lot of new technologies, trying to recreate the world is something that nobody would have believed. Si it could attract a bunch of people if the promises are held. But in the other hand this is a complete disaster from a ecological view. But after all, this is all tourism.

I think this is a beautiful idea as a concept : the idea of representing the world thanks to these Islands is insane. However, there are several problems that keep me from encouraging that project or just taking part in it. Indeed, we are currently talking about artificial islands. Then, despite the fact, it will look like the map of the world, setting up a bunch of resorts and luxury hotels […] requires a lot of money. To me, the huge amount could be used for more relevant issues. Then, this project is absolutely not sustainable. The will to change and manage the way the Earth looks, is against the idea of keeping the world evolving on its own.

I find this kind of project really fascinating, it's crazy to realize that everything that people imagine can become reality and be created. Nowadays we have the means to create anything and it's crazy that the possibilities are infinite. But sometime it can also be a little frightened in the way that when people have enough money, they're able to create whatever they want but sometime also to destroy everything which is the case with environnement and biodiversity in this exemple..
