In the manuscript, the narrator has introduced all the characters in the novel. Some arrive by train or by car to a remote area where they are transported by boat to an eerie and isolated island. The house is modern with large windows, but it is cut off from the mainland. Everyone has been invited to Soldier Island by an unknown person. They each received an invitation and they each accepted the invitation. When they arrive to the island, the Rodgers greet them. Then they all realize that the host is not there. When everyone is relaxed and waiting, a gramophone begins to play. It describes everyone’s crimes. The name of the record is Swan Song. After the gramophone is finished, Mrs. Rogers faints. Everyone is in hysterics because they don’t know what is going to happen to them. They each go through explaining away their crimes to each other.

In the beginning of book, each of the characters were individually invited to Soldier Island each given a different reason. Once each of the characters arrived at the house, they set down their things, and had dinner together. During dinner, they were having a great time. As soon as dinner began to wrap up, a unhuman like voice began to speak to them. It accused each of them of being responsible for a murder. Once they began to investigate on who was saying the message, they found Mrs. Rogers on the ground, she was unconscious. Mrs. Rogers had fainted. Shortly after they found her, they continued on their quest to find the source of where the voice had come from. It turns out there was a gramophone in the room next to the room that they were in. There had been three holes drilled into the wall so that each of the characters were able to listen closely to what the record had to say. The record was titled “The Swan Song.” After they realized the voice was coming from a gramophone and Mrs. Rogers had been put to bed, each of the characters sat down to discuss the accusations and how they were invited to this place.

The record was named "The Swan Song" meaning the record someone says before death. They all start talking about their invitations and letters from Owens. They later find that Davis was lying about his name and his real name was Blore. he was a former cop and was also lying about where he was from. Owens did not exist it was the acronym U.N.

A lot happened in the first three chapters. Ten people, unknown to each other, were invited to Soldier Island. They were all invited by a similar letter, signed by U.N.O. or U.N. Owen. A few of the invitations were by other people, therefore it was difficult to recognize the connections. Some characters like Mr. Blore are liars. At the dinner party, he was exposed for lying about his name. The author uses a lot of foreshadowing in the book. For example, “A world, perhaps, from which you might never return.” (p. 36), is a warning that the people are going to die. Agatha Christie, so far, set a casual yet mysterious tone for her story and entices the reader to want to keep reading. I hope I continue to enjoy the rest of And Then There Were None. I am anxious to see what happens at the end.

When they got to the house none of them knew each other but they still got along for the most part. When they went in they got to eat dinner and they got a little drunk and loose and talked about things looser. When dinner was over they talked to each other a bit and then this recording on a gramophone played and it talked the people everyone has murdered. None of them were not guilty, all of them had done something bad. Mr. Blore admitted to not being Mr. Davis as he was first perceived. He was supposed to watch Mrs. Owens jewelry.

In Chapter 1, we find out the traits and physical appearance, their backstories and suspicious details, and who and why they were invited. In Chapter 2, Everyone starts to meet each other for the first time, but they also start to get suspicious as to why all these people were going to soldier island as well. They arrive on the island to find the final two characters, Mr. and Mrs. Rogers. We are able to get some details as to what they look like and their traits as the chapter goes on. Everyone is sent to see their rooms and we find that in Vera’s room there is the poem that was seen on the first page of the story. We then go to Mrs. Brent who is reading a bible passage about this day of judgement, then it’s dinner. We finally arrive at Chapter 3, where the mood is much less eerie. Everyone is starting to open up to each other and we see how friendships start to form. We travel to a brand new room where they start to discuss who their host may be, until a powerful, booming voice comes explaining how every individual in this room has cause the murder of another person. This starts a whole mystery, which gets them all thinking about the voice and how they got here. They find a hidden room with a gramophone that caused that voice to come on. Everyone gets questioned as to who invited them and how they were invited. One character reveals his true identity, but then we find out who the host may be and the truth behind the name Owen.

In Chapter One, we are introduced to all the characters and how they got invited to Soldier Island by someone. For example, most people got a mysterious Mr. Owen, while others received other hosts. Then, in Chapter Two, all of the people who are going to Soldier Island meet up and get ready to take a ferry. When they arrive, they are greeted with a luxurious mansion with a significant piece of poetry which sets the theme of the entire place. In every room, there is a copy on the walls of the poem, “Ten Little Soldiers”. While the guests get settled in, they are told dinner is to start later that night. In Chapter Three, at the end of dinner, guests are terrified when a mysterious voice starts talking. The voice goes through every guest and says when and whom they killed during their lifetime. One of the maids, Mrs. Rogers, faints and must need help. Everyone gives their case and plea and as a group they find out Mr. Owen is a direct link to the word UNKNOWN. Mr. Owen does not exist and is most likely set up by a homicidal lunatic.

In the first chapter we get a brief look at only 8 of the characters. We find out that most of them have a suspicious
past. We also find out that some of them got different invites. One thing in chapter 1 that seems really suspicious is that Mr. Blore knows everyone who is going and he is making up a fake identity. In the second chapter all of the guests arrive on the island. We are also introduced to our last two characters, Mr and Mrs Rogers. In this chapter we get a lot of foreshadowing on a storm. One last thing that happens in chapter 2 is that in all the guest rooms there is a poem about “10 little soldiers”. Lastly, in the third chapter a speaker over a gramophone exposes everyone suspicious pasts. Turns out that everyone invited to the island had murdered someone before. After hearing the announcement the characters get worried on who Mr and Mrs. Owens are. After holding an “investigation” they come to a conclusion that there is no one called Owen and that they were brought to the islands by someone else. One last detail is that Mr. Blore’s secret is out and Lombard tells a lie about his invitation and how he got it.

Lots of lies were told in the first three chapters. Several secrets have been exposed, which have made other people seem very suspicious. At the beginning, we got an explanation of the 8 characters, however, the explanations were quite brief. In the first chapter, it made me really suspicious when we found out that Mr. Blore knows everyone who was invited and is going. He is also making up a fake identity. All the guests arrived by the second chapter. We were finally introduced to our last to characters Mr and Mrs Rogers. We got lots of foreshadowing about the storm in that chapter. Moreover, in all of the guest rooms, we found the poem about the soldiers. In the third chapter, as stated before, a voice goes over a speaker gramophone and exposes everyone’s past. All, not most, but all of the people who went to the island have murdered someone before. After they all heard it they started wondering about the Owens and later on came up on a conclusion that they weren’t invited by the Owens but by someone else. Mr. Blores secret is out. Lombard also tells a lie about his invitation.

The story begins with characters on their way to Soldier Island. They do not know the man who invited them. There are short descriptions of each of the characters and indirect details about them. Some are very mysterious. In chapter two the characters all meet up to go on a ferry and arrive at Soldier Island. Nobody knows each other. On Soldier Island is a luxurious mansion. In every room is a specific poem. This poem is also seen at the front of the novel. All characters go on their way to dinner at the end of the chapter. Chapter 3 is where a lost of suspense occurs. The dinner ends and the guests all settle into a room. A recording plays, accusing all guests of murder. After hearing a scream, some of the guests run outside of the room to find the body or Mrs.Rogers, fainted. A gramophone with the recording is found. An investigation occurs. In the investigation readers found out the Lombard is lying, Mr.Blore’s secret is revealed, and the Owens do not actually exist. The conclusion is that they were invited by a “...dangerous homicidal lunatic.”

On Soldier island there is a big mansion on the other side of the island. When they get there we meet the remains two characters Mr and Mrs. Rogers. Both of the where hired by the unknown host to serve the guest. They are taken to their rooms and in each room there is the same poem called” Ten Little Soldiers”. This poem and the various mentioning of a storm brewing are foreshadowing off what’s about to happen.

Krishelle Brown
In the beginning we meet 8 characters excluding Mr. and Mrs.Roger which makes 10. We learn a little bit about them and we know some of them go invited by a different person. They were invited to soldier Island. In chapter 2 they arrive at Soldier Island. They get to the Mansion and were greeted by Mr. Rogers and Mrs. Rogers the Butler and the Maid. Vera thought it was weird that there we only 2 helper for a big party. Mr.Rogers and Mrs. Roger were invited by someone unknown they said Mr. and Mrs.Owen were going to get there later than planned. Throughout the chapter there was some foreshadowing of a storm. They escorted everyone to their rooms all of them notice a poem on the wall namd "Ten Little Soldiers" . In the chapter a gramophone starts saying stuff from the voice of a person. It is saying each characters past that they probably didn't want heard. It accused them of who they murdered every single character. Everyone is very confused where that came from and they saw the machine next to the wall as if they were supposed to say it. They ask Mr. and Mrs. Rogers they say that from the letter they got that said to do that. The record was labeled as swan song which is what you put when someone retires or dies. None of them have ever met the Owens.

Eight people were invited to a mysterious island off the coast of Devon. They have all been invited either for work or a personal reason, but are not all really sure why they are there. Mr. Wargrave, Vera Claythorne, Philip Lombard, Emily Brent, General Macarthur, Anthony Marston, and Mr. Blore get on a boat with Fred Narracott where they meet Mr and Mrs Rogers. When they arrive they are informed that the Owens are not arriving until the next day and no one has ever actually seen them. Fred, the boat captain, had not seen them either because everything was set up by Mr. Isaac Morris, the same who hired Lombard. In each guests room there is the Ten Little Indians poem which made them all realize they are on the mysterious Indian Island which had been in the news a lot and no one knows who owns it. They all start having dinner when a mysterious voice comes on the gramophone, this voice accuses all of them of murders of a certain individual except for Lombard who is accused of killing 21 indians. They are all shocked and try to find the source of the voice which is an old gramophone located in the drawing room playing a record entitled “Swan Song”. Mr. Wargrave takes charge of the situation and interviews everyone asking why they are there. Each received a letter or telegram from a source saying they are a friend or colleague to give the letter legitimacy. Miss Claythorne, the Rogers, and Blore were all hired to do a job for the Owens. The rest were sent to the island by a friend. They were all invited by an Owen- Una Nancy Owen and Ulick Norman Owen or U.N. Owen which with a stretch is unknown.
