Teaching and learning are important aspects in the life of the human being, because for thousands of years has been practiced with different methodologies, this changes according to the time in which it is developed, there are already multimodal texts that favor teaching And learning EFL, with the aim of teaching the majority of people who are participating, therefore, the teacher must be innovative, creative, facilitating students practice skills such as: speaking, listening, reading, writing. Also, it is important to recognize that students are constantly interacting with technological and digital tools that may be important in learning, therefore the students can create multimodal environments where students worked with and incorporated different
modes of print-based and digital texts within curriculum
tasks.
In particular, the mutimodal texts can be ‘reading’ may involve viewing, listening and
responding, while ‘writing’ may involve talking,
listening, designing and producing. Consequently, the use of computer tools is significant when using blog or other academic websites, because in these you can publish videos, images, texts, recordings, and the above is not only limited to reading, on the contrary, practice the four skills for learning a second language.

Finally, I could say that the multimodal texts we use in everyday life are social networks, such as faccebook, youtube, twitter, instagram, among others, but we do not use them correctly, on the contrary, this resource could become a good tool academy that collaborates to literacy in EFL.
Furthermore, we used advertisements, posters, news report, websites, films.

Coming up next, a short video that describe the multimodal texts:

Multimodal literacy is a process that is in teaching and learning, which is responsible for using technology that allows them to perform multiple tasks with a variety of digital media and mobile technology, surf the Internet, send a text message or a photo to A friend, play a digital game while listening to music, or create your own multimedia texts through hybrid texts such as weblogs.
"Multimodal literacy explores the design of discourse by investigating the contributions of different semiotic resources (for example, language, gesture, images) co-deployed across various modalities (for example, visual, aural, somatic) as well as their interaction and integration in constructing a coherent text. (wordpress.multimodalliteracy)

It is important to take into account the research described by Maureen Walsh, related to multimodal literacy, these are:

Convergence of the modes of sound
and image with traditional writing: is a development within Web 2.0
technology and it enables a range of modes to be
used in the production of a multimedia experience.

Interactivity of visual and gestural
modes with reading and writing: In this program the teachers used a variety of
multimodal texts and concrete materials to engage
their young students in developing concepts of
print for reading, understanding of a literary narrative,
shapes for mathematics and concepts of
healthy food types.

Articulation between written and
digital modes: Within the theme of ‘Change’ students researched the history of gold and gold rushes: ancient civilisations, legends, fables and
language about gold. They developed a timeline of events in Australia from 1700-2006; gathered information, identified and
reported on an individual or group involved in the discovery of gold.
