HTTP 

HTTP is a set of rules for transferring (show) data (text, graphic images, sound, video, and other multimedia files) on the web. As soon as an internet user opens a web browser, the user is indirectly making use of HTTP.

FTP

FTP is a standard protocol used for exchanging files between computers on the internet. It is also commonly used for downloading programs and other files to your computer from other servers.

SMTP

SMTP is used in sending and exchanging emails. It also lets the user save messages in a server mailbox, and downloads them periodically from the server.

TCP

TCP stands for Transmission Control Protocol, it’s quite useful since it is responsible for verifying and giving support to TCP helps to decrease the risk of lost data, and also helps detect errors. It also triggers retransmission until the data is going to be received in the right place. It sends emails and transfer data.

IP

IP stands for Internet Protocol and is responsible for dividing the data into small packets at the source machine and then converting it back to normal data at the destination machine. It is also responsible for moving packets of data from node to node.
