I perceived insightful lessons about my project site. From using different drawings, I learnt to draw the section through Qualitative Observations, which I needed to add elements and textures to accurately depict the objects. I also recognized the need to examine the entire area from a 'Section view,' thereby learning its key features. The most impactful drawing to me is the one with Simon’s guidance. It made me realize the significance of details and the material images to clarify my messages. Regarding different elements within my project site, I studied that others' viewpoints can give my design a fresher look. I also employed three criteria to effectively evaluate the site: elements, emotions, and functions. Furthermore, I learned about designers’ attention to elements' connection and counting so as to evoke visitors’ emotions. Moreover, designers should consider maximizing the site's potential. About the people’s movement and activation of my site, I discovered that landscape architecture goes beyond plants. It involves focusing on details like soil materials and the function of each element. Besides the importance of designing for audience diversity and environmental adaptability, I recognized the value of design harmony to enhance the visitor experience. Overall, the fundamentals of site evaluation, including the elements, spatial quality, and functional aspects has expanded my perception of landscape architecture.

On the second trip, I learned to identify design elements, accurately measure and plan sections of the site. The drawing of Barangaroo helped me realize the importance of design elements and considered different aspects such as lines, scale, and patterns. From that experience, I wondered about the reasons behind specific design choices, like patterns, and their functions and also the emotional impact created by colors interplay. At Pirrama Park, a wider range of materials was used, resulting in diverse spatial qualities for visitors. This deepened my understanding of the elements encompassing "spatial quality," including proportion, lighting, acoustics, spatial sequencing, and materiality. Specifically, the use of cutting sandstone bridged the gap between natural and industrial elements, facilitating the construction of roads and stairs. Besides, I recognized the relationship between human scale and the natural environment. Through my drawings, I explored the endless functions of different project sizes, encompassing practical purposes like commercial or recreational. For example, a place can be utilized for exercise, relaxation, and even teaching. After visiting Pirrama, I learned about "Spatial quality." The landscape designer prioritizes people's emotions, using them as a foundation for decision-making regarding the site. This approach integrates design elements, spatial quality, and functions, evoking an impactful experience upon initial encounter. This indicates that design goes beyond aesthetics.

On this last trip, I gained insightful lessons related to my career. The first lesson is the utilisation of diverse materials for the connection of design with nature enhances the sense of harmony. Furthermore, I learned how to exactly notice any smallest element then interpret it on the drawings. I also explored the varied experiences of this journey through drawing to explain the project's site. Through sketches, sections, and plans, I could effectively use textures and patterns to convey the materials, from small details to larger elements.The most impressive design was the little rocks inside the steel net. The re-use of little rocks, plates not only expresses the respect of design for nature but also conveys a message to protect the environment. This explains the special connection and harmony for Ballast Point Park. Another important lesson to me is teamwork skills. During the trip, we had constructive arguments and found the place from the hint together, giving new perspectives to my perception of the landscape. Overall, all of the experiences gained in this field trip made me appreciate incredible aspects of the design and the use of materials.
