As the AFS foreign student in 72/73 I totally embraced the Kingswood offerings...Dance was a priority and became my career but writing came a close second. Although I had no schedule for Creative Writing, Mrs. Moaveni suggested I do Expository Writing with her. And it was an amazingly creative class... I shall always remember her homework:"Just write, whatever comes to your head..." It was very challenging! Having my work in Gallimaufry felt great, and a Certificate of Merit from The Detroit News competition made me extremely proud. Sharing each other's work in class, debating, exchanging ideas and problems, Mrs. Moaveni brought out the best in all of us.

How wonderful that there is a Gallimaufry 50 year reunion! I look forward to visiting with you!

As one of the first faculty advisors for the magazine in the early 1970s, it was a most memorable experience for me. Your enthusiasm for self-expression in writing and art gave impetus for starting Gallimaufry and sending it on this 50-year journey where you were first published.

Those years being involved with such creative students and creative writing in such idyllic surroundings really inspired me as a teacher, such as writing under that huge tree outside our classroom enveloped in its massive branches!
