Projek pemetaan seni jalanan ini bertujuan untuk menaiktaraf infrastruktur beberapa kawasan yang dipilih untuk menarik perhatian masyarakat sekeliling; terhadap isu dan krisis perubahan iklim dunia. Cadangan hasil karya berbentuk 'street art' pada sudut atau dinding/bangunan yang dipilih dapat menambah makna kepada persekitaran, melalui idea kreatif pengkarya terhadap isu alam sekitar untuk dikongsikan bersama masyarakat umum secara khusus. Projek Pemetaan 'Seni Jalanan' - street art ini dilaksanakan di sekitar kawasan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur sebagai contoh usaha kreatif tentang peranan yang dimainkan oleh seni jalanan sebagai medium kreatif terhadap isu kelestarian alam dan krisis perubahan iklim dalam persekitaran bandar. Projek yang dirancang di bawah Program UBAK 2022 ini melibatkan proses idea kreatif sekumpulan pelajar tahun tiga (3) dari jurusan Seni Halus yang mengambil bahagian dalam projek pemetaan ini dengan seliaan pensyarah, Puan Rosyida Mohd Rozlan. Sungguhpun tiada satu dasar yang jelas tentang pembentukan seni jalanan dan isu kelestarian alam dalam persekitaran bandar, namum peranan seni ini masih relevan sebagai satu bentuk seni dengan mesej propaganda yang kuat (Bakhtiar, 2018). Perdebatan dan persoalan estetika seni jalanan yang dikatakan vandalisme dan subversive ini juga mengundang isu-isu etika dan perundangan urban yang menolak sumbangannya kepada persekitaran dan masyarakat secara umum. Pada masa yang sama, kurangnya bahan kesusasteraan dan rujukan yang konklusif tentang bagaimana seni jalanan ini boleh memberi manfaat kepada lanskap seni dan alam dalam persekitaran bandar. Selain itu, keberkesanan dan peranan seni jalanan dalam meningkatkan kualiti persekitaran bandar, terutama dalam konteks tempatan di bandar-bandar seperti Kuala Lumpur masih kurang jelas, memandangkan sedikit kajian telah dijalankan mengenai peranannya dalam bidang pengurusan bandar dan lanskap. Pelaksanaan projek ini dirancang bertujuan untuk meneroka peranan seni jalanan sebagai medium menyampaikan mesej terhadap isu alam sekitar dalam konteks persekitaran bandar Kuala Lumpur dan juga dapat meningkatkan kesedaran visibiliti masyarakat umum mengenai isu yang ingin disampaikan. Ia diterjemahkan kepada persoalan; bagaimana seni jalanan ini dapat mempengaruhi persekitaran kawasan yang dipilih di bandar di Kuala Lumpur. Untuk menjawab soalan; pertama, apakah seni jalanan perlu ditakrifkan; dan keduanya, bagaimana masyarakat umum melihat seni jalanan dan kesannya terhadap masyarakat setempat, serta impaknya terhadap persekitaran bandar. Penyertaan pelajar secara kolektif dalam melaksanakan projek pemetaan seni jalanan ini dan prospek keberkesanan seni jalanan terhadap isu kelestarian alam dalam konteks bandar kemudiannya dibincangkan. Model kerangka konseptual yang dibangunkan daripada kajian literatur termasuk seni jalanan, persekitaran bandar, persepsi, penyertaan dan prospek seni jalanan dalam konteks bandar dibangunkan sebagai panduan. Projek Pemetaan Seni Jalanan ini, bersifat penerokaan dan menggunakan kajian kes dari beberapa buah kawasan dan strategi tinjauan reaksi orang ramai terhadap impresi seni jalanan yang dihasilkan dalam bentuk pemetaan melalui aplikasi Padlet – Google Map. Campuran analisis data kuantitatif menggunakan alat statistik dan analisis data kualitatif digunakan dalam projek ini. Pendekatan teori asas juga digunakan untuk membangunkan reka bentuk penyelidikan. Penyelidikan mendapati daripada soal selidik bahawa terdapat kesan multi-dimensi seni jalanan secara maya dalam kontek persekitaran bandar. Faedah seni jalanan yang disimulasikan ini sama ada dalam domain maya, sosial atau budaya menunjukkan bahawa seni jalanan sangat siknifikan dalam mewujudkan kebolehdiaman dan kelestarian bandar.
