Although the music he produces is acoustic, you can hear that he a has a blues and soul infused type of music. Many people could find his voice very annoying, but while I was viewing and listening to his music, I very much liked his voice and style of music. Mae is very influenced by the New Orleans culture, which is brought out during his music and sometimes in his music videos on YouTube. All though his songs all have a similar vibe to them, I noticed that all of them are very different in their own ways. Sometimes he writes very upbeat songs, however I did find a few songs that had a more "sad" tone to them. One of my favorite songs from him that I heard a few years ago called Tombé Sous Le Charme, really brings out a New Orleans sound,  which is one of my favorite aspects of his music.
