could we revisit the issue of when reviewers should look at applications by? Current guidance is (I think) that all 20 should be reviewed in the first week. My experience over the last couple of years has been that some reviewers leave all the reviews to the last weekend. We might need a happy medium?

on the question of how complex issues that arise at calibration get resolved - perhaps there is a role for expert advisory groups here. There will always be areas of practice that aren’t settled or issues that are emerging (so it will be difficult for the Ed Excellence team to give a clear cut answer) and it may be good in terms of emphasising the value of calibrations for reviewers to know that if something they raise can’t be answered in a session, it will be taken away and guidance produced for everyone afterwards

A suggestion.....I think it would really help learning, if each reviewer is asked to briefly articulate on a shared google doc why they believe each criterion is met or not met including the 15 dimensions, using "excerpt(s)" from the application to support their view. Reading through those would help reviewers learn what exactly in the application ticked a box for a criterion for other reviewers and eventually help align understanding and judgement. On that google doc, Advance HE can then highlight those which were aligned with the appropriate judgement and those which weren't.
