It has been a long time since the first embryonic conception for a united europe at the monetary, economical and political level that should have gather to avoid weakening each other but to cooperate in order to enrich each other.

I think the values of unity, cohesion, mutual pride and respect are not so strong in the mentality of Europeans, many people think that the EU is not an opportunity or a positive thing for them, we must not be surprised, Europe is not  respecting the cardinal values of its founders;  there is no a solid economical project to compete with the other superpowers on a commercial and production level;  we do not have a unitary army or an organization to decide how to intervene in international crises, moreover the European political bodies are extremely distant from the European citizens of the individual states who see the European government as a marginal entity.

I think that the true European Union has not yet been born, we must have the temperance to fight for a centralized and widespread government, capable of fighting for European interests and strong in order to have a central role on the international scene.

To change the European mentality I think that the support of campaigns to raise young people 's awareness of European issues are not enough;  the most important thing that Europe must resolve to change the europeans mentality is the political authority so that its presence can be perceived in the homes of every European;  the key to a good nation is the sense of belonging of its citizens and only by awakening this European pride can citizens truly make their own the ideals of unity and friendship between states which are to be considered the pillars at the basis of the Schumam declaration 70 years ago.

This is my hope.
