Well, from the very moment the idea of this task popped up in my head I knew that in the end I would get a lot of suprisingly well-written stories. But what I see now is beyond my own expectations. This story is astonishing in some way: I mean, I haven't even thought to see such a profound use of language and exquisite storytelling. This is a good start, and I insist you should work further and never stop writing. Honestly, I believe that you have even more amazing ideas that are awaiting to be reliased in reality.
P.S. revise the rules of writing in the past tenses

A very interesting story that makes us to think about what are we afraid of? And should we fight our fears or is it just some kind of our natural self-preservative instinct? I really liked this part: “fear of darkness was equal to the fear of the anything unknown”. Sometimes people get terrified because of things they don’t even know about. A person needs courage to overcome their most terrifying fear, it will set them free, no longer caged in their own minds, not letting themselves to move on, to progress. Not only you need to be better than others, but to be better than you are, always work on yourself to become a better version of yourself, I think that is the idea of this story.

To talk about some grammar issues, I was confused by this sentence: “In Paula’s ears ringed the girls terrifying laughter”. For me this sentence would sound more convenient the following way: “The girl’s terrifying laughter ringed in Paula’s ears”. Maybe it’s just me.

The story is definitely amazing and breathtaking! The thing that I like the most about it is its completeness and conclusions made by the author in the epilogue. Today we are accustomed to seeing a lot of weird and dark stuff on TV screens and reading the same in books. Unfortunately, the majority of these works focus only on emotional effects (to scare audience into grey hair, for instance) lacking the most important – what’s the point? Is there any? And your piece of writing DOES have all the necessary components to be considered a good one. In the main character readers will see a really wonderful model to follow and this example may even help somebody to fight their own phobia.

P.S. I like the vocabulary you used and I’m in love with your style. I’ve noticed a couple of mistakes, but they seem to be more misprints than blunders.

Absolutely marvelous! The problem of dreams and especially nightmares hasn’t been embodied much in the literature. The style is beautiful, and the plot is detailed quite good for a short novel. Personally I loved the concept of “darkness” as the biggest fear and connecting it to the nightmares-thing.

There was only one thing that was not elaborated well, but I guess that’s because of the size of the work. I missed the point when the main character left her fears behind, and I didn’t get the idea of how fast it could happen to her. I would make this part a little bit longer explaining how exactly she could cope with her problems.

When talking about syntax, I would suggest some changes. Some mistakes were made, that wouldn’t be noticed while speaking, but unfortunately they are quiet obvious in the written text.

Anyway, the author is just great, and I wish you as much bright ideas as you can handle! 10/10

The story is absolutely amazing – it has the combination of chilling and macabre elements on the one hand and it is quite thought-provoking on the other. The story is stylistically mature. The language of narration is rich and beautiful. Some moments were not clear for me – maybe it is worth to expand the size of work – some parts need more details.
There were some mistakes that are not very serious, but anyway some of them offend the eye. Maybe it would be useful to repeat the rules of past tenses.
But in whole, the story is brilliant. As a fan of horror stories, I think that you have all chances to become a really good writer in this sphere.
