Discipline sounds more like rules and expectations while guidance sounds like the help that is given in order to make sure those rules are followed and those expectations are met at some point

Guidance as Danielle said comes first and is the structure and atmosphere of your classroom. Discipline also needs to be a structure but is needed when the behavior can't be ignored.

To me, guidance and discipline is about teaching kids what’s okay and what’s not in a positive way. It’s setting clear rules and helping them understand why those rules matter, while also showing them how to make good choices and fix things when they go wrong!
