Framing - Composition Skills

In the assignment "Composition Skills", one part what to create a sense of frame within your picture. I decided to take a picture of the scoreboard on the baseball field. I centered the fence, so it is blurred and framing the scoreboard.

Cloe-Up - Dia De Los Muertos Camera Shots

This assignment was "Dia De Los Muertos Camera Shots" we were to take multiple different shots of the gallery. One shot was a close-up. I took a picture of a sugar skull painted rock that lined the sidewalk along with many other painted rocks.

Landscape Portrait - Composition Skills

This is a portrait of my camera partner Kendra! In the assignment "Composition Skills" we needed to take portraits of people posing. I centered her in the hallway and had her turn her upper body to the side. With her pose, the dark lighting in the front and bright light in the back, depth was created, and the picture is pleasing to look at.

Headshots and Lighting

In this assignment we were to take headshots using different directional lighting. In this picture, there is a blue light shining on Kendra's face from the bottom right side. This highlights the right side and shuts out the left side of her face. Also, we are in a dark room to make the background completely black.

Light Painting

This assignment we used LED lights to create cool designs in our picture. In this picture, there is a LED light with rotating colors that is being held by another person who is waving it around to form wings behind Kendra's back. In order to create the light painting you needed to use a super slow shutter speed with a dark background.

Advertising Photography

In this assignment we were to create an advertisement. We needed to find a color harmony that went with the product of our choosing. My group and I decided on Welch's fruit snack gummy's. I took a yellow piece of paper and layed the opened package on it with the fruit snacks "spilling" out. Each piece was carefully placed so they looked like they were coming out of the package. In photoshop, I added the Welch's logo along with a slogan I found on the Welch's website.

Rainbow- Scavenger Hunt Final

I took this picture for the "rainbow" subject in our Scavenger Hunt Final assignment. I found some multi-colored feathers in class and thought those would be perfect for creating something rainbow. I had Kendra hold them in front of her face and spread the feathers out

Drop, Throw, Pour

In this assignment we were to drop, throw, or pour something to capture its motion. I chose to drop a rubber duck into a water filled cup. I used a black paper backdrop and put black paper on the table to completely black out the background. I was able to capture the water spilling out when the duck hit the cup. In photoshop, I cropped the image and adjusted levels, exposure, and colors.
