Mary Wollstonecraft made a very important contribution. Such as expanding the woman's rights movement during her time. She fought that woman's education shouldn't come second to men's education and how woman deserve the opportunity at work in "male dominated jobs". Now today most woman are working in politics and as doctors/nurses and are able to have the same education as a man and create a life for themselves instead of relying on men.

in my opinion I believe Mary Astell ideas had the greatest impact. She wrote and published a book that addressed the lack of opportunities for women especially in education. She used the arguments in the enlightenment to criticize unequal rights for women and men and how all should be treated equally. Her ideas addressed how the relationship between men and women were very unequal. She also said if all men were born free why is it that all women were born slaves? This idea still impacts us today.

I think John Locke was the enlightenment thinker who made the most important contribution because he wanted everything for his people. He wanted his people to live happily and the way they wanted. He said we are reasonable beings and we can govern our own affairs. He also said we are born free and we all have equality in our liberty and equality in our property. Those lines and John Locke's ideas influenced Thomas Jefferson in writing the Declaration of Independence.

He argued the degree of punishment should befit the crime and he criticized the abuses of justice and irregular proceedings of trials. This influenced many governments include U.S.. An obvious evidence is that there's no torture in the laws of U.S and convicted person also has rights. Below is the picture of Beccaria.

I think the Philosophes had the most important contribution because they came up with the 5 key concepts that we use in our everyday life and we need to keep us going as humans. They said that we need reason, nature, progress, happiness and liberty. We mostly need happiness and they said that we need to focus on our happiness in the present day and not in the future, not in our second life and our after life. The Philosophes believed we could apply reason to all of our aspects of life. It is important because we need to focus on our happiness and the 5 key concepts of our life in the present and not in the future.

I believe that John Locke had the greatest impact because he believe the all people were born free and equal. With his ideas he puts the people first because he believes that people can overturn the government if they are not happy with something. That's why a lot of his ideas and found in the Declaration of Independence . This is important because Americans love freedom and having a say the in what happens. Without John ideas Declaration of Independence could of gone different because it was hugely influence by John Locke ideas. This is a picture of John Locke.

I believe the Philosophes had the greatest impact because their belief of reason can be applied to many important aspects of our daily life. An example of this is happiness, which is of course important for everyday life, and how we should solely focus on happiness in this life. It could also tie into many other enlightenment thinkers ideas and meshes it into something simple, yet effective. For example, it could be tied into women's rights for the liberty and progress aspects of reason. Here is a picture of the Philosophes.
