She tells of how Tom had always gone by to go work and say hi, but one day he had come in, beat her, and raped her. He tells his version of the story that is obviously different than the story by Mayella and Bob. He tells of how he said hi to Mayella and she then tries to kiss him. While that happened, Mr. Ewell came in to see that. Mr, Ewell then started shouting and so Tom ran. His story makes more sense and worked well with Atticus's claims.
