-These body proportions are an adaptation for surviving in tropical regions due to the greater proportion of skin surface available for cooling the body.
How they survived- stayed close to the coast not infiltrating extreme environments until around 15,000 years ago.
- Gathered together, hunted together
-Adapted to new environments easily, competed with and outlasted other humanoid species
